Bottom Line:
This review is for TG Audio's HSRa Gen II PC. This cord is slightly more expensive then the HSRi, and is meant to be more accurate, although less forgiving then the HSRi. I'm using the HSRa on a Sonic Frontiers Line 3 preamp where it replaced a Coincident CST-PC. The latter is a very nice PC. Its smooth, detailed, open, and extended, although its smoothness and slightly laid back character becomes a coloration in itself. The HSRa seems to have a very transparent character that makes it hard to nail down, almost as if what I'm really hearing is now coming direct from my source, and not filtered or colored in some way by my preamp. This is a fast and rythemic cord, transients have a lot of snap without smearing detail. Bass articulation is crystal clear, no muddy bass, no artificial weight, just nicely extended definition with excellent articulation. My only caution to perspective buyers would be that this cord doesn't attempt to produce an analog sound by tapering the highs in anyway, or making a lean system sound more weighty. Therefore if your system is on the brash, lean, or bright side this cord will not mask anything. On a neutral or warmer system this cord will help bring out the best in the components its connected to. It allows a wealth of information to pass through, unfettered.

Excellent cable for the $$.
I first had the Electraglide Basic running my Audio Analogue Puccini SE integrated amp. Then I read in Bound For Sound that MGD liked the TG cord better for power units (power amps and integrateds), and the EG for line level.

So I bought a TG HSRi cord, and it did great things ! Deeper, tighter bass, a quieter background, and (I was suprised and skeptical when MGD mentioned it) IMAGING INTO THE BASS REGIONS ! I have tried MIT, Cardas, Audioquest cords, and none did this for me.

A great deal for the money. Not the best out there, but a value, and you may be able to find it used or demo.

TG has also come out with the HSRi Squared. May be a killer !
