About 10 minutes into watching one of our favorite DVD's (The Fifth Element)for the hundredth time, my wife asked if this was our copy or a upgraded version? When I told her that I had bought some new connectors and that it was our copy she was thrilled. "This is what DVD is suppose to look like!", she commented. Bought these on a lark, just to see what would happen. Compared them to the Sony gold-tipped set that came with my old VCR, the OEM cables that came with my Panasonic VCR and Toshiba DVD players, and some similar cables from AR, Monster, and Kimber Illuminations. First, the Monsters (from $15 to $90) are no competition, period, from low-end to high-end (they're uniformally awful). The RS cables were better than any of the Monsters. But AR's cables were a big improvement over the RS, and so was my Sony set. The generic Panasonic and Toshiba cables revealed no difference whatsoever with the RS set. Conclusion: if you're already using the a-v cables that came with your equipment, the Radio Shack product performs exactly the same, but the construction isn't as good (RS uses cheapo pseudo-"gold" connectors and sloppy solder work). RS, of course, is no match for the $175-plus Kimber cables. Anyone who thinks they can hear, see, or smell any differences between Radio Shack stuff and the stuff that came free with their equipment is seeing/hearing/smelling something that somehow escapes most of us. After 40 years of browsing thru Radio Shack gear, I have never experienced any advantage in their over-priced, over-hyped product line. This product is no exception.

The connections are tight.

I will admit straight out, I am very picky when it comes to home theatre and audio. My Team compared RS S-video Gold Cables & Speaker Wire VS. Monster head to head in picture and sound quality on my system. The consensus, there was "NO", I repeat "NO" difference between the performance of the two brands. I believe the ONLY difference is in the quality of cable that monster manufactures, sure Monster has nice looking and high quality products, their cables have a lot of insulation and foiling, where as RS Doesn''t. But Monster''s claim is, with out the insulation and foiling you get more electronic feedback, static if you will, Hey I didn''t hear any such noises from the RS cables. The Picture Quality looked identical, the Sound Quality sounded identical. Buying these cables instead of lashing out hundreds of dollars/pounds on super-fi interconnects is one of the most sensible things you will do in your time on this planet.

There is NO POINT in spending more than 10 bucks on interconnects when the cables that hooked up the mixing console to record your favourite music probably cost even less!

Use your brain - buy these.

After reading many many articles and reviews about Monster Cable interconnects and then Radio Shack interconnects I decided to save a ton of money and go with the Radio Shack ones. After reading everything that I did, it all comes down to wasting your money all for the name Monster Cable....and for me I am not paying for a name.

So if you are looking to get good high quality cables at a great price......go to you local Radio Shack and check out these wires. Here are the model numbers for them .......

After using the Basscube 8 for about a month, I decided to take advantage of the 45 day trade in period and trade up to the Basscube 10. I found that the 8 really couldn't keep up with the rest of the system when you started to push the volume up. So when I went back and compared the 2 subs, I found the 10 had much more of a presence in the system and sounded much better.

With it's small size you can hide it pretty well in the room, and it still really pounds the bass out. I am completely satisfied with this speaker and all the other Cambridge Soundworks speakers that make up my HT setup.

It was a joke dork. Most people that care to post in here probably don't talk like that. Well maybe some of you might but let's move along shall we. If you have a compact all in one unit entertainment unit housed in plastic casing sitting on your Sears particle board living room furniture I truly believe these cable are far in excess of your needs.As a matter of fact your money is probably better spent on lottery tickets and booze, than on Radio Shack cables. Stick to the geneic cables that came with your Zenith vcr. If some how any one posted up on this run has a system valued at over a grand....let's say 2 grand, than you would certainly be doing your equiptment a disservice by running good audio or video signals on cheap cables. Cliche or not your system will only be as good as your weakest link, so let that help you think. Also if you love music and movies then go and get yourselves some good speakers. Start with your monitors not your reciever, that is the foundation of your system. Great cables will not make your G&E 4 1/2s with plastic dome tweats come alive. Nothing will.

I have been a cable cynic. But when I saw that these cables were being cleared out at $5.00/pair and that they had received generally good reviews here, I figured I had no downside, so I am in the process of re-cabling my entire system with these.

After breaking the cables in for 48 hours using the cable break-in track from Chesky's Audiophile Test Disc Vol. 3 on an older CD player, I hooked up my DVD player, replacing some marginal cables.

I was very impressed by the increased audio resolution, wider soundstage, and tighter bass. There was simply more or better information making it to my amp.

I give these cables 4 stars for overall rating, because I'm sure that there are better cables that I haven't yet tried, but they are a clear 5 star rating for value.

BTW, my local Radio Shack was out of stock, but was able to make a call and query other local stores for availability. He was able to find a total of 5 units at 2 stores, and had them shipped to him. So I picked up all 5 a couple days later. Moral of the story: if your store is out of stock, have them check other local stores. Ask for product #42-2676

I agree with the gentleman below. Go kick your shoes off in front of your $20,000 or $200,000 or whateverthousand dollar system and pop a beer. If you can't afford such luxuries, pop down a bunch of em', bump the system that "god" gave you and forget about it. Just about anything sounds cool while you're lit. However, I do disagree with some of your spellings sir. Example 1)
"Now I know most of the people on hear..." it's spelled-HERE- bro. "..most of the people on here.." Example 2)"Anyways I herd no differences and later..." now this time it is spelled HEARD. If you guys want to call out the big boys with the big toys, do not send in David to slay Golliath with a mouth... or in this case eyeful of bad grammar. Your point almost immediately loses all of its intended strength.
Dope gear has got to be paired with dope ass cables. Medium gear gets the Shacks. If you roasted your duck buying an amp and a center channel, and you don't have left what it takes to buy the goooood interconects and speaker cables then you don't deserve any of it. And right back should you go to your east-asian clock radio.
