Bottom Line:
I purchased these cables to connect my HK AVR5 (which I use as a preamp) to a Technics SH300D AC3 decoder. After breaking them in, I found very little difference between these cables and the Radio Shack Gold series interconnects that I had been using (I couldn't wait for the Monster Cables to come via mail order from Earthstations, so I dug out some old Rat Shack gear and started listening). The Monster Cable is more convenient (the all-in-one type of jacket helps to eliminate tangles and behind-the-rack clutter), and, at aroung $50, is also resonably priced. However, the sound is uninspired, with unremarkable midrange and treble definition. The major difference between the Radio Shack wire and these cables is bass response; the former have a weak, thin bass output, while the Monster Cable's bass performance might be described as very good (but not excellent). All in all, a very average product.
