Strength:

wide sound staging, cohesive whole

Weakness:

tried to look at what it does not have......"just a xtra bit of width and breadth of stage, microdynamics"....but hey, versus a silver audio hyacinth, blue heaven at a 3 to 4X the price. highly recommended

Doing a comparatice tests with a bunch of cables near its price point : This cable has the hallmarks of a cable that presents a cohesion timing of the portrayal of a musical event, akin to cables as Van den HUL D102. Only a bit drier but nevertheless sounding more agile especially in the bass articulation. While the VDH may sound a hint of nasality in voice with speakers not quite fast enough, the cambridge manages to cross in betweeen the lines of using mid end vifas to dynaudios. This is a cable that is not quite talked about but it is able to do justice with its associated value. It is similar to the likes of Tributaries sca 100. Notice vdh and Trib's are silver on coppper cables, i believe it's material may be same. Cables it is able to stand up against: QED Qnex2 Kiber pbj Soniclink Pink Chord chorus

Strength:

Clarity and stereo image and superb control from treble to bass. Substantial cable, as thick as the gold plated plugs on them. Reasonably flexible and attractive for such a thick cable.

Weakness:

Those plugs are very tight. When I eventually pulled them out of the gold sockets at the back of my Audiolab amp they pulled the gold sleeves off the sockets with them.

I thought I had a reasonable interconnecting cable between my CD and amp but tried an offer of a selection of 'loan' cables from the dealer to try out. The Studio Reference cables were by far the best of the selection, with only QED Qnex2 being a worthy rival. The improved clarity of the music and stereo image was impressive, maybe a bit more clinical and dynamic than the qnex2 but the most enjoyable to listen to. There was just more 'presence' to much of the music. A substantial improvement over cheaper interconnects around and would satisfy all but the most critical audiophile with loads of money to spend on cables.

Qnex1, Qnex2, other Cambridge Audio cables (since replaced by IXOS 1000's). Between a Marantz CD72SE cd player and Audiolab 8000A amp and to Ruark speakers.

I have used them connected to the ever famous cambridage audio CD4Se and A3i. Earlier thought of being on the budget and use the Audio Pacific. Ask the dealer to try the Studio Reference to see if there is any difference for the big jump in price. Personally , I am sceptical and thought I can't hear the difference since I am new in HiFi. To my surprise...wow..the soudstage difference were so significant , so much clearer are the sound compared to teh pacific. And of course I end up with the Studio Reference. Even the internal of the CD4SE are using the Studio Reference... so the Cambridge guy should have known that this is best value for sound and $$$.

OK for the money, but found I had to swing my amp around the room to get them off my amp.........and they are badly made...ie. terminated, if you have a pair make sure that the braid is only in cantact at one end (the cd end) and that it is tucked into the sleeve at the other end.
Do yourself a favour don't spend £50 on these, buy chord siren or another quality cable for a little more money.

Bought two pairs while in London for 35 pounds each. Best sounding cable for the money I had heard yet and I have listened to a bunch. Did not find them too tight like the previous person. Mine are terminated perfectly.

Strength:

very musical, soft non irritating sound, very good timing
exceptional soundstage

Weakness:

too energetic for some types of music, boomy bass, slight drop in details

this no doubt amore than averege cable, it sounds very musicl, realistic and involving.
but there's a strange two faced nature to it: one one hand it is very pleasent warm non harsh loads and loads of fun to listen to, onthe other hand it is too energetic and lows are noticably bommy- though the most realistic bass drum and cymbals i've heard for a long time/
very good indeed/

I bought these interconnects withoug really knowing anything about them.I listened to them, thought they were a bit higher than my budget,
but finally thought that 'it's no use to buy too 'cheap' interconnects
when I have tried quite hard to listen and to select the rest of
the system (cd, amp and speakers).

So I highly recommend these interconnects. I can not make any comparision
to others, but I think they are very good in my $3500 setup.

(I got two pairs for $110, but rrp is probably little higher.)

Strength:

Excellent audio/signal cables.

In the matter of fact I have no futher comments to the cables, but I like the idea by fasten the cables to the receiver.

All sounds are transmítted correctly without any noice from the television and/or other electrical devices will interfere.
