I have used these for several years, and changed components about a half dozen times requiring moving the plugs. Last night I changed a CD player and when hooked back up, one cable was dead. I never had a complaint about the sound, but the quality is less than one would expect. Even the freebees last longer than this.

I have had a pair of Jades for over a year now. They sound better than other interconnects in their price range.

HOWEVER, the right channel cable shorted out. It had been acting oddly for the past few months, and then ZAP. It's a goner. I can't recommend this cable due to it's build quality. Come on, Audioquest...

more strong in bass sound

well , I use AQ jade for long time , about 3 years . I'd 3 pairs of Jade for cassette deck , VCR and DCC deck . Well , sound was OK and sweet . And the main reason for why I buy jade is the price and the sound . It's really reasonable price and the quiet good performance in the price ( for a US made audio cable ) . Is good for VCR too .

I use it for VCR to VCR for video tape dubbing . Sound was good and acceptable . I really and highly recommend to all VHS / S-VHS users , use a better audio cable . It can made a better sound produce . AQ jade was good in price and result .

Ok, I think the AQ Jades are receiving some unfair reviews. These were my first real pair on interconnects. It took me a while for a cheapo like me to dish out the $29 to purchase these, but I was so glad I did. I would never go back to the generic factory interconnects. After breaking them in, the sound became clearer and more balanced. No, they will not sound the same as $500 interconnects on your $10000 system but for a budget system like mine, it certainly does wonders.

From '97-'98, I used these cables with the entry-level Sony CDP-XE300 and the Marantz PM-66SE amp before upgrading to the Turquoise. The Jade offers a discernible improvement over those ubiquitous, free interconnects that accompany every new CDP. It tamed the brash treble of the Sony and made listening to it more pleasant. And I actually preferred it to its more expensive brother, the Audioquest Turquoise!?? It had far more character and warmth than the drab Turquoise. Its reproduction of basslines is on the lazy and slow side, so dance and rock music fans beware...

Do note however, that the Jade is quite an old product now, so you might be better off buying a newer cable in this price range (QED's excellent Qnect range comes to mind).

Audioquest Turquoise

OK, to keep it short and sweet, these cables are great if you have currently are using the cheape generic radio shack RCA stuff. These things sounded A LOT better than my generic interconnects. I took about 2 clicks less with these cables to produce the same volume as the old cables. The sound is cleaner, the bass is less boomy with more transparency throughout all the ranges. Great cables for the price, I highly recommend them as a step up from the generics. At this price for the 1.0 meters, tough to go wrong.

I echo the compliments that Albert from Duarte previously bestowed upon these cables. I did a 30 minute A/B comparison with generic OEM cables that came a new CD player. There was a large and noticeaable improvement. The sound was a lot clearer and smoother. Certain frequencies in low mid-range produced sounds I didn't hear with the OEM cables.
I also compared them with some $25 Monster Cables I've owned for a number of years. The Monsters sounded better than the OEMs, but still they had a harsher sound than the Jades and didn't reproduce some of the lower frequency musical instruments as well.

Based on reviews, I have recently bought some $100 DH Labs Silversonic cables. Due to a silver coating around the copper cable, these Silversonics have more of a sharp edge, but they lean towards a brittle quality rather than clarity. I'm not sure that I like these $100 cables as much as the AQ Jade. I'm not sure yet, but I may be putting the much cheaper Jade cables back in soon. Overall, I would rate the AudioQuest Jade a 4 for sound and a 10 for value.

I've bought JADE interlink for $26 (.50M) from bestsound in st'louis.This jade is not that bad but conmparing to my monster interlink250 the monster is far better than audioquest JADE. The monster interlink250 give more sweet end and clearer.For one who really want to use audioquest interlink, the turquise will be the one that near monster250 but again I feel that this monster250 still give sweeter sound than turquise.

I purchased a pair of Audioquest Jade Cables ($29) and a Pair of Monster Interlink 400 MKII Cables ($39.99). I then did an A/B comparison through my Mac 2150 amp. The Jade had a solid, clean sound but the music lacked image. With the Monster cables, you could "hear air," and the image and natural reverb of the instruments was well pronounced. With the Jade, the details were lost. The Jade cables seemed to emphasize a more solidly pronounced lower midrange, but did so at the cost of high frequency detail. Although the Jade is certainly a "step up" from run-of-the-mill patchcords, I suggest spending a little more and using the Monster.
