fast, clear without harshness

Excessively expensive

First I must point out that this is a DA convertor not a preamp. I bought it as part of an all Goldmund system. The standout items were actually the fabulous Epilog 1&2 speakers, the amps and the Mimesis 36+ transport. Whilst better than the Spectral the difference does not justify the price in fact but I was spending so much that i went the whole hog anyway.
