Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $35.00 from Electronics Boutique

Summary:
The card DOES have full duplex with ADC and DAC simultaniously. An economical alternative to the high-end cards that offers high-end sound. For the really serious soundbuff I would recommend another card as the drivers don't have bass/treble controls, and if you have PCI delay/pipelining enabled in your BIOS you will get noise.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $30.00 from Fry's Electronics

Summary:
Over all the Guillemot Muse is an excellent sound card for the budget gamer. Its very compatible with Athlon systems or with motherboards that have VIA chipsets. There were some issues with soundblaster lives with these particular motherboards with VIA chipsets, but the Muse had non of these issues.

The Muse has EAX v1.0 which isn't bad at all. Considering its very affordable price tag, the Muse is one tough sound card to beat at its class. No sound card for the same amount of money sound as good as the Muse.

The Muse is an exellent choice for gamers on the budget or for anyone who wants the best value for thier money.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $30.00 from Small Computer Store

Summary:
Small features from a small priced Sound Card.
The "Maxi Sound Muse" is a good card for a good price.
But when it gets to doing a little bit more than just Playing Games, Listening to CD,..etc..
Then you will reach the limits of this card..

This card supports NO full duplex (Battlecom, Roger Wilco and Gamevoice don´t work while a game is running.)!!!

You can make recordings up to 48KHz, but who needs that? When you can´t even record and play at the same time.

My opinion:
A waste of money, I´ll go and buy myself a "Creative" card... better of with that.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
