I keep hearing all of these positive reviews for line conditioners... And I shake my head and wonder how many have heard the Cleanlines by Mike Vansevers..
It is a small company, run by a great guy (Mike - you can talk to him any time on the phone). I put the model 83 in my system (ARC VT100, ARC LS8, Pioneer Elite DV-09, Dunlavy SC-III) and immediately ordered one of his conditioners for my system permanently.... the sound is sweeter and more revealing... not harsh at all... more focused.... noise floor dropped... you could hear the difference in the next room.... next floor of your house... from the sidewalk... I A/B'd it with one of the large TICE conditioners.... with the TICE, the sound didn't seem to improve one bit.... the 83 was a no brainer. Find a dealer that has them,... audition it.... you'll buy it.... I bought the ref 85.... but woulda been just as happy with the model 83.

I recently ordered from the factory a Reference 85 in white. It's an extra $200, but once you see this thing, you will want one. I really have to thank people like Mike Vansevers for making products that look as good as they sound. Not only that, but it only took four weeks for mine to arrive. I usually have to wait twice as long for custom-ordered components.
Yes, the Ref 85 is one of the most cost-effective improvements you can add to your system. Yes, you can spend the same on cables. But this thing allows your equipment to perform at its best. It comes with a good-sounding powercord. It is physically small (11.75" x 3.75" x 7.375"). It runs cool. And, Mike really knows his stuff, when he tells you how to tune the Ref 85.

The Ref 85, especially in white, is a winner. Too bad other high-end companies don't have such good customer service. I hope that Mike made extra units in white, so he can bring them to shows. If he did, I guarantee he won't be returning to Tampa with them.

********** TEN STARS!!!

I bought a VansEvers Model 85 for my stereo system. I could not believe the difference this particular conditioner made. The sound is so much more realistic and involving. This is not a slight difference, it literally transformed my system. I had to re-position my speakers!! The 85 is absolutely, positively required gear in this guys hi-fi chain! Also, the transient impedance switch is a very nice feature I have found very useful in taming my slightly bright, but beautiful sounding Alon speakers-it’s neat to have a choice here! The VansEvers Model 85 is the best and most cost-effective upgrade Ive had in quite a while-and I upgrade alot! Ask my wife if you have an hour.Happy listening!
