Strength:

Fantastic sound from Radio 3 (especially their live broadcasts). Not so good on compressed radio stations, such as Radio 1 and similar local pop stations, but l’m not into this genre anyway, so for me not an issue. My Dab 300 has the optional remote which is essential for channel hopping. A must then for classical music aficionados and speech broadcasts from Radio 4.

Weakness:

The only weakness is the omission of FM, so please bare this in mind if you plan on getting one.

Strength:

Price Crystal clear audio signal 3D sound Ease of use(and tunig and finding all DAB stations available)

Weakness:

Poor quality of delivered antenna(aerial). Limitted pre selection stations(10,but then very easy to tune to the others)

When I purchased my new Hifi gear, decided to getin house the new DAB technology aswell. As this was completely new to me din't want to invest a lot of money(Arcam was a 1.000€+ machine) and as I decided to buy the CA 640 CD player I went for esthetical reasons for their DAB aswell(at that time the AZUR model was not on the salesdeck yet). My expectations were not very high, although a DAC 24 bits is used ,their is no upsampling and I used when the standard deliverd interconnect. Now after about 6 months of using the Tuner I only can say ,the little thing is worth every cent.Lot of people can't tell the difference with a decent CD player when they here it play.great detail, wide soundstage, really 3D sound. Ofcourse when I put the CD on ,the difference is their, but than realise that my interconnect(LFD cerainly not the most expensive one, cost about the price of the DAB.A Silvertech interconnect even cost twice the price of that DAB!!!!). Is everything fantastic ,certainly not. Although the use of the Tuner is really simpel, the delivered aerial is really poor and will only allow me about 10 stations. On the other hand if the signal is too weak, the broadcasting is inhibited so you really get only crystal clear music.I hope the DAB stations will come available on the cable. To conclude I could only give you the advice ,if you like to get informed by new types of music in a "nearly CD way" go out and buy the CA 300,for relative low price you got a lot of high quality music.
