Been using this deck for 14 years, it still rocks, decent sound, no issues at all!
So a very durable one it is!!!

Easy adjustability, straightforward to use

When I first bought this casette deck I was pleased with the ease of use and adjustability. However, after only 1.5 years of moderate use it will not record anymore. I'm dubious about putting money into it to fix it if it will break after a short time. Overall, when the deck worked it was decent but the durability is lacking.

I think this is one of the best tape decks that was made. Reproduction is great, the hook up is a cinch, dub speed is awsome. I just love it. I've had it for almost for years and I have thought to replace it. It is the bomb!!! To boot an ex-girlfriend bought it for me so you can't beat the price. Who says relationships are for the birds?

For what you're paying for this deck, you're doing all right. As another reviewer mentioned, though, it's not the way to go for the more advanced user. While not approaching the quality of my Pioneer Elite CT-07D, this deck nevertheless sounds pretty good. One of its nicer features is its very fast REW and FF speeds - one area in which it far exceeds the vaunted CT-07D. Fairly easy to use the deck for recording and you get Dolby B, C, and HX-Pro, dual auto-reverse, and so forth. If you're in the marhey for an inexpensive cassette deck, consider the RS-TR373. I'd think it could be found in the 150-160 range (USD). I've had mine for at least several years with never a problem, which I find typical of Panasonic/Technics products.

This deck is ok for a beginner, but not for more advanced users. Deck has very poor wow and flutter (0.1%). Good rewind speed and forward rewind speed. Sound is avarage for a lower priced deck. Dolby works pretty good (74db C, but far from great. I give this deck a 3.

The player looks solid and sounds sparkly, the rec level control knob on the front has a v. smooth action and is v. sensitive. Dolby B and C.

As stated by an earlier reviewer, I have experienced problems with this deck. It has an intermittent warbling on the A deck which can interfere with tape to tape recording. I have never experienced problems with Technics stuff before and so am quite disappointed.

Not bad, but not durable enough for the money. Try another manufacturer.
