This was the best sounding of the five I listened to. Like all Sony products, it was also the most expensive but with the $20 off during the holiday rush, it was "acceptable." The CD player was a nice feature and the receiver was vastly improved over the 14 years old unit it replaced. The sound was very good considering the size of speakers and the bass boost added a "fuller" dimension. The 3 CD changer worked, though it was less forgiving on scratches than the player in my car. Missing: no external speaker jacks should you wish to add something better (i.e. Bose). It has 20 FM station presets and 10 AM, more than enough for the Detroit area. I'd buy it again...but I'd also wait until the price hit $79 or less. Then it's really worth the price.
