Well I Bought My HX-Z30 off ebay and the guy that i got it from said that the cd player was broken and he didnt want it anymore so i bought it and when i got it from the guy i took it apart and i fixed it the only thing that was wrong was a cd was stuck in the cd tray and i guess he was to lazy to get it out or he didnt know what he was doing but i guess i got a good deal b.c i hear people pay 300 to 500 dallors for these shelf systems but yeah im selling it on ebay rite now b.c i moved in to a place where you cant listen to loud music and trust me its loud and i love it and they just came out with the new one that plays DVD's so i might go and buy that one b.c its not as loud and i can do alot of stuff with that one well i hope if you get this system that you have some where to play it loud

Strength:

Power! and its not just power, its power with form. Its crisp and clear, and not distorted. This thing hits lows i've never even heard before. And it looks cool, too.

Weakness:

Cd trays do take a bit long to open, but thats unnecessarily picky.

I cant even begin to describe this stereo. I'm not the kind of person that sits and listens for minute distortion or anything, i just like to hear powerful, full sound out of my stereo. I bought this thing because Sony mini systems with the one 8" woofer didnt cut it. This blew me away. It rattles things off shelves, out of cabinets, etc, in my house all the time, and you know what? I love it. Having a stereo that can just obliterate anyone elses is a good feeling. And with this, you'll experience it firsthand.

Strength:

cool beeping noises, display looks cool, plays mp3 cd-rws, go on ebay you can buy new ones around 200. I wouldnt choose anything but jvc if your looking for bass, my friends have sonys and stuff and they dont compare, even the gt700 door rattling. I havent heard it but my friends jvc stereo with only 6" subs is supposed to be really nice.

Weakness:

too loud, for 190 watt subs that are only 8"s be supprised...very supprised..... also if you can put rubber in between your door and the fram it kinda gets annoying when it rattles....

"Maybe too good?" Well I bought this product as a customer return and it was untested. Well when I recieved it it would randomly turn off, well I figured o.k. it might be something i could fix but in the mean time I should use it a little.... Well I hate it, I dont know what that guy was on saying it wasnt loud, I set the 2 speakers up on the opposite side of the room and at 15-18 volume my door rattled, then when u get up to about 20 my mailbox on the front of my house rattled. I have never gotten it past that (max is 30), well later that day my parents came home and guess what they found??? Well I claimed it wasnt my fault that my dads glass display case full of 1:24 scale cars had fallen off the wall.....well the next day i was scared to turn it up very loud to have more things break, so i turned it up to about 15 playing vice city and all at once it turned off, so i figured i would just unplug it and plug it back in and it would turn on, it did but there was no sound coming from the speakers, the headphone jack was so bassy you couldnt understand anything well I took it apart and found out that I melted the solder holding on a piece of a circuitboard, so I contacted jvc about buying a circuitboard. You cannot buy one. I went to a local electronics repair wharehouse and they couldnt fix it or buy a board. So I'm screwed, My 50 dollar stereo is broke....as I am typing this I have a bid on a working one and its at 20.00 and another 20 for S&H so I'm gonna buy a new one maybe for my car but if I buy a power inverter to hook it up I should make a bumper sticker that reads: Don't bother honking if parts fall off because I cant hear you because of my stereo. My friend told me that one because I'm restoring a 68 mustang that is a rust bucket. Well If you bothered to read this hope you decide to buy one, just make sure things arent falling, and just dont expect to hear braking glass because I didn't.

Strength:

JukeBox-like LED display, cool little beep noises when changing tracks. Actually pretty neat, too bad it's paired with such sucky speakers.

Weakness:

OVERPRICED!! Not loud at all, poor sound quality, no bass, etc.

Don't buy this plastic monstrosity. I ordered it from buy.com then cancelled my order but it shipped anyways, so I couldn't resist at least plugging it in. Firstly, it's nowhere near as loud as I thought it would be. Secondly it just sounds like crap. Think twice before buying this. You can get much better sound from a used pair of bookshelf speakers on Ebay.
