Strength:

Audio quality. Precision tuning.

Weakness:

As everyone else, CD player does not work.

This piece has a GREAT sound quality. We played it to the maximum sound in a new year party and this product ROCKED. Great sound.

However at the end of another party, one speaker stopped worked. Didn't know what happened. So after a few months, one of my friend and me opened both speaker boxes to see what was wrong. Nothing was wrong. Then fit together everything back. Guess what. It started working.

Imagine how I got it for $15? No wonder. CD WAS NOT WORKING. All right, I have connected it to DVD player and also planning to use it as a player for my iPod at home.

Great value to buy if you get it a yard sale. Just connect a Walmart CD player if you wish to play CD.

Strength:

Good strong sound, great quality, nice size, has audio out (!!!!!!), input level is nice to have as well as DSP and BBE, POWERFUL sound

Weakness:

None, so all you complainers CLEAN YOUR DAMN LASERS!!!!

This product is great. The sound is wonderful. It has nice, full featured cassette decks too. GREAT FOR RECORDING! I had to clean the laser when it came, but it has FAST tracking. The sound is AMAZING for a unit of this sort. I am VERY happy with it!

Strength:

programmable radio recording, kareoke (never use it though), tv hook ups, 4 speakers, handy buttons that do the job,

Weakness:

the dang cd player. Anyone every think of a class action suit against Aiwa since they know about this problem and refuse to correct it for us?

Do not buy this model. I used this system for about a year (it was stored the remaining time). The CD player is a total failure like everyone describes. It is not worth the time to repair. I tried cleaning the lense and tightening the screws as mentioned in the Feb 19 reveiw. Too bad, it is otherwise a great machine. It is now just a radio and tape player at a friend's house. She runs her portable cd player through it to play her cds loudly.

Strength:

great sound, lots of bass

Weakness:

CD player quits working.

I had the same problem with the CD player as everyone else, and for a long time it just sat there. Then I hooked it up to my computer and now use it as the sound system for my computer. I suggest everyone do this because of the superb sound quality of this system. I just love playing my mp3's through this because I am a bass freak and this system has TONS of bass.

Weakness:

POOR CD UNIT.

I purchased my Aiwa NSX-V70 in 1997. It worked great the first year and than the CD player died and has been dead for past 4 years or so. VERY DISSAPOINTED, tired everything but nothing seem to make it work. IT does not recognize the CDs anymore.

Strength:

Very good sound

Weakness:

Poor CD Player

Same experience as everybody else, The CD player is useless. The system has sat idle for over two years because the CD would not recognise any CDs and spit them out. I was ready for throwing it out until I read DANS' Review dated 19th Feb 2002 regarding the two plastic adjustment screws on the laser, this has proved successful and so far I have no trouble.

Strength:

Sound, functioning changer! Speakers and excellent tuner.

Weakness:

Tone and bass control not as fine as I would like...

Sorry - time to disagree! Fantastic system with which I have had no problem because knowing multichanger weaknesses, I have been gentle with it! Have cleaned the lense regularly and occasionally take the case off to wipe it. Many people talk of repair stories but in my personal experience patience and a good cleaner means that mine sounds as good as it did in ''96. A non-functioning CD on a ''98 NSX-S22 was sorted simply today again by cleaning the lense... I admit the drawer changer system can be cack and occasionally needs a push to shut it but the sound is phenomenal for the price and the buttons have survived hard use!

Strength:

Excellent Sound. When you hear sound like this you know it''s an AIWA.

Weakness:

CD PLAYER DURABILITY

This stereo is great. I owned this stereo for about 7 years now. The sound is great, not great, but excellent. Of course, it is true the CD player broke on me three times. After second time, I started to repair the System by myself. I found out that the CD Laser Lens needs cleaning because overtime, dust tends to set on the lens allowing the system not to recognize CD''s and impossible to find tracks. I use a Q-Tip slightly damp with water (not too wet, just enough to lift dust) and gently clean the laser lens. After this, the product is good as new. Ive been to repair shops where they would replace the whole lens and it would work for a short while and go out. But for now, I have no problems at all. Everything is great.
