for those who prefer audio quality and custom equalisers over the frills of an ipod, the sony x series is the way to go. i have both and i can genuinely say that the audio of the sony's sound has a spatial feel to the bass, mid and treble in such a way that it completely blows the ipod's over processed sound, out of the water.
