Strength:

1.Lots of features(e.g. Ogg playback, good Fm tuner, line in recording at 320kbps) 2.Sound is clear with lots of EQ options 3.It looks COOL!

Weakness:

1.The highs in music sound very bright and harsh. 2.Bad software. 3.Ogg playback only works at bitrates of 94 to 225 kbps, if it goes over 225 kbps you will hear cracking and popping. 4.WMA playback has artfacts if it has been encoded with the WMA 9 or 10 codecs. 5. You need to use the iRiver sotfware to transfer songs(you can flash it to be used as a Usb plug and play device, but you lose a few features like only being able to record the line in at 94 kbps). 6. iRivers lack of bug fixers for large bugs(e.g. The Wma playback bug)

The ifp 795 is a very good player for the price i paid. It has a load of features, good looks and sounds great(much better than my MuVo V200). But it is not a player for people who do not know much about codecs and the bitrates they support or people who want there things to just work out of the box and not fiddle with lots of stuff to get it to work. But all in all this player is very good for the price.

Strength:

Sound quality is superb. Fast file transferring.

Weakness:

Earbuds are irritating to try to wear and don't sound all that great compared to regular Walkman styled headphones. The display is okay, if you have 20/20 vision but if you have bad eyes like mine, it can be a little annoying trying to read the smallest info.

I've had this for less than a week but am really impressed with it so far. I've loaded just over a hundred songs at the 128 rate and the sound in the 'phones just amazes me for something so small. The controls are tiny and navigation takes some practice, but overall this is a great little player for the money, definitely one you should consider if you're shopping and leaning towards the pretty-colored iPods.
