Bottom Line:
I bought the D-M33S for a secondary system to put into the bedroom (like most, I suspect). Its compactness let me fit it into a corner unnoticed and unobtrusive. It's a very dandy little unit! Tons of features, my favourite being the RDS (no more not knowing who sang that song on the radio!) The speakers are gems. They extend crazy-low for their size and are always musical. There's plenty of power to fill a decent-sized bedroom with clean, clear sound. FM reception is good. MP3 abilities are complete. There's really nothing bad to say about this offering from Denon aside from the CD Player is a bit noisy when it's spinning. For a larger stereo, you'd never be close enough to notice, but since this gets used in tighter quarters, I often will. But that's a small complaint that only shows up in between tracks.

Bottom Line:
I bought this cd receiver with Q Acoustic 1010 speakers, added VDH Royal Jade speaker cables, as system for my kitchen, for a daily casual listening. Now I'm thinking of adding some cheep subwoofer, maybe cheapest Jamo (cca 150 $).
Fora that money You get nice system, great music, a lot of pleasure.
Nothing elese to add :o)

Bottom Line:
I needed a mini system downstairs in my small family room and after my reaserch settled with the Denon.I was drawn to this system by it's Burr-Brown DAC built in.I listened to it at the store and was quite impressed with the sound quality. This quality DAC was the main reason I chose the Denon. The speakers are small but don't let that fool you as these are quite capable of producing some serious sound quality. Also the headphone jack is not an ordinary jack as it is capable of driving the of the top line headphones.I tested it with the Sennheiser Hd 650 and was pleased with the sound quality. Now, some upgrades I thought up which had a profound impact on this system making it well worth the money.First,I changed the provided speaker wire with the AQ type 2 which had substantial effect on the sound.Second.I added a subwoofer to this system and in my case found this upgrade essential.Third,I purchused the Monster SW200 surge protecter with stage 1 clean power curcuitry to plug the Denon and the sub into.Just one complaint, the antennas for the radio are rendered useless.Your going to half to purchuse some kind of antenna(s) for the radio.I've given you a very basic review of this system as there are many numerous features to this system that I didn't touch on.However,I'm leaving it up to you the readers to take it from here.I'll just say this;give this mini system a hard look as you really do get what you pay for in this case.
