Bottom Line:
I must say that I bought this mini system mainly because of its 5.1 inputs so I could use it with a DVD player in the future. At first I was disappointed with the lack of control of the graphic equalizer then realised that I didn't really need to adjust it for great sound with music or movies.
The unit can pump out a lot of power with little distortion. The two main speakers are 4 way with a super tweeter, tweeter, woofer and subwoofer to cover all the ranges and can really take some punishment yet stay very very clean.

I played The Fifth Element DVD using a Sony 925D player with a built in decoder into this system and the audio was excellent! The
in built subwoofers had my walls vibrating...but nothing compared to when I added a dedicated DB dynamics dual 12inch subwoofer...then the room started rattling...during the opening sequence of the movie. The ZKVR8 also has subwoofer outs but the signal is too low so I feed the subwoofer using the speaker outs.

The Centre and surround speakers aren't full range which is a let down but I changed my two rear speakers with a pair of Audioline ones. Lets just say the sound quality is amazing. The sound separation was amazing when watching Dolby Digital movies.

A word of warning...the Built in CD player can cause interference with the TV transmission. This problem gets better when playing VCD's using the ZKVR8...so if you plan on using it to play VCD's...make sure its not too close to the TV.

Overall I think its a very impressive unit...the audio is very clear and defined while covering the entire sound spectrum. You can really turn this system right up and still hear the music accurately.
