Bottom Line:
Other than the sporadic electrical fires this system is very common. I used to listen to it every day but now I cannot see or hear. I am in very bad shape. I like this system.

Bottom Line:
After listening to the vast array of systems available, the AIWA XR-M88 fit the bill. This system offers very high-quality sound and simplicity of operation, along with a very "ergonomic" space-saving design. The single CD sytem, coupled with an FM tuner and auto reverse single cassette deck, deliver pure sound at high volume, and the recording features can be linked with Aiwa's "AI" edit (artificial intelligence) for sync recording. I added a powered subwoofer to my system, and this produces great fidelity. Altogether, very high-end performance in a well-designed, relatively inexpensive unit. Congrats to AIWA for delivering the goods!
