Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $99.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
Absolutely look the technology.

Strengths:
Puts you in control of your TV viewing.

Weaknesses:
I have had 2 units break in the last 6 months. The repaired one came back with a 90 day warranty so I am stuck paying for it to be repaired a 2nd time. I will never buy a Phillips product again.

Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $80.00 from Circuit city closeou

Summary:
Exelent unit, works exactly as required. I have yet to have any problems so to speak of in with this unit. My only complaints are the horribly numb remote,(It can take up to 5 seconds to respond to a command)and a lag in the AC-3 out.(D/A problem) It sends out the video but takes longer to process the audio.

Strengths:
Really opens up the DSS experience. I don't know how I lived without it.

Weaknesses:
Get a new learning remote, the pack-in will drive you mad!!! Only use the digital out fo the music channels unless timing errors don't bother you.

Review NaN of , from Canton, GA

Price Paid:  $249.00 from Americansatellite.co

Summary:
I installed my Philips DSR6000R and immediately fell in love with TiVo. The interface was very similar to my RCA DirecTV recievers but more responsive. After a couple of days waiting for it to download the DirecTV Channel Guide I began to record all my favorite shows. It was Great! ... for a couple of weeks. The tuner in my first DSR6000R went out after 2 weeks. The second unit worked for two days. The third DSR6000R arrived DOA. All through this process my old RCA reciever has no signal problems. I love TiVo ... I hate the DSR6000R. I'm looking for a more reliable unit. I just ordered a Sony...keep your fingers crossed.

Strengths:
Very user-friendly interface. Easy to program. Pausing live TV is Awesome!

Weaknesses:
The reliability of this unit is horrible! I Love TiVo ... I just want on one that works.

Review NaN of , from Dallas, Texas

Price Paid:  $99.00 from TIVO.COM

Summary:
Revolutionizes the experience of watching television. I really enjoy being able to watch my favorite shows at my own leisure. TIVO is a great invention. However the Philips unit has gone out twice on me, once requiring it to be sent it where they charged me $99.00 to fix (which by the way is the original price) so essentially, I have spent over $200 on my $99.00 unit to date.

Strengths:
Great to be able to record shows you'd normally miss or fast forward as necessary. Pause control is s tremendous benefit when interruptions occur.

Weaknesses:
Customer Service has very limited capabilities to resolve issues. I called 4 different times, 4 bad experiences. Avoid if possible and use Internet. Philips hardware broke. Cannot contact Philips directly to assist with missing power cord.

Excellent product it truly has changed how we watch TV. Great picture, easy to set up, and support for 16x9 aspect ratio.

Strengths:
Easy to use and connect.

Weaknesses:
Only found out the ability to record two programs at once on this website. Can't use Season Pass for cable TV...
