Bottom Line:
I've had this system for just over a year now and it's great. It has a great picture and good sound. The picture looks fantastic hooked up to my 50 inch toshiba. It's a sleek stylish little system that will fit almost anywhere. The only gripes for me is that the sub doesn't play loud or deep enough for my tastes, but you could expect that from all home theater in box systems, and that it needs a backlit remote for use in a dark room. It's a great system if you are just starting out a home theater or not a hardcore audio/videophile. The model has been since discontinued and replaced by the dvd-77, so that's what would be looking for now. Great little system.

Bottom Line:
I am by no means a serious audiophile and this is my first DVD player, so I certainly don't qualify as an expert, but I love this system.

I have engraved photo albums and SVCDs with WinOnCD 3.8 and played them on this system. Other similarily priced systems from Sony and Panasonic were nowhere close in features or sound quality.

Like any HTIB, it is not for serious audiophiles, but for we common mortals a highly commendable intoduction to the HT experience. For the price of a decent DVD player plus a basic Dolby 5.1 HT amp. you get an entire system including a pretty decent subwoofer.
