Panasonic SC PM08 DVD Micro Home Theater System
6 Reviews
rating 2.67 of 5
MSRP
Description: Home theater at the office? That's one way to add energy to a presentation. And it's just one possible use for Panasonic's ultra-compact SC-PM08. Packed into the elegant silver control center is a Dolby Digital decoder, DVD/CD player, 7 channels of amplification (the main right and left speakers are biamped!), and an AM/FM tuner with 24 station presets. As you'd imagine, it makes a great bedroom system, too.

All 5 speakers are voice-matched for seamless, wraparound home theater sound. The wood-finished, video-shielded main speakers look great perched on a desk, dresser or bookshelf. The center and surround satellite speakers can be wall-mounted using the keyhole slots. Surround sound is clean and spacious, and 2-channel music shines with warmth and detail. The 3-way main speakers feature Panasonic's biamped Super Woofer Drive System each speaker has a side-firing 5-1/2"" woofer with its own dedicated amplification.

With thousands of Dolby Digital DVDs available, and more available every month, don't miss out any longer. Big budgets and big rooms are not required!

It is a low budget DVD stereo system.
Do not expect too much from it, you get what you pay for.

Bottom Line:
Would have at least expected this unit to play CD-R's. The front panel suggests that DTS is built in,,,however, it only refers to DTS output availability. Being able to store user settings would be advantageous instead of having to trawl through various procedures each time a DVD is inserted. The sound is reasonable for a unit of this price.
