Strength:

Nothing outstanding that I can think of.

Weakness:

Poor workmanship.

There is a major problem with the touch controls on this unit. They just don't respond properly. Many times it requires multiple attempts to get them to perform their designated functions such as the open and close drawer function. This is very annoying. I almost never get through a complete viewing without at least one glitch which is usually the picture freezing for several seconds. It just feels like a cheaply made component.

Strength:

sound quality is OK, not great, not terrible,

Weakness:

Build quality is just simply non-existent--made of plastic, POS, weighs about a pound.(not kidding)

I'm just commenting on the build quality--it simply IS NOT THERE. Sound is better that most, but it's as light as a piece of paper. Although the proformance is OK, the build quality disgusts me so much I have a hard time looking at it. If you put it outside on a windy day, you have to use a rock to hold it down or else it will blow away.

I will continue to use my Cambridge Audio azur 540D in my main system. I cannot stand looking at or using the Toshiba

Strength:

It matches the big screen tv we bought.

Weakness:

Overall poor performance.

Absolute rubbish? This player rarely goes an hour before it starts skipping to the point where the DVD is unwatchable. Depending on the disk's menu, suddenly the dubbing or subtitles will switch. This has been a complete dissapointment. We went back to using the Xbox to watch DVDs.

Nothing this bad.
