Bottom Line:
A player with superior video quality and remarkable audio quality, the DVP-NS999ES manages to replace a high-quality CD player in my system without compromise, and provides an amazingly smooth and film-like video presentation. It's advanced video filtering system reduces mosquito-like video noise in many under-bit-allocated scenes, and it's color saturation and fidelity are among the best I have seen. The SACD capability is a welcome surprise, providing the best multi-channel musical presentation I have heard to date, and it's 2 channel reproduction is smooth and unfatiguing, though probably not the ultimate in 2 channel CD reproduction. This player is a remarkable achievement, and a well made and substantial product.

Bottom Line:
Bought the player primarily for the SACD capability. I was not disappointed.
Properly calibrated it brought to mind the first time I heard the formidible SCD-1.
Great with CDs and video as well. Came with a good remote, I only wish that
it was back lit.

Hey guys, I have a question for you. I recently bought a Sony DVPNS999ES player which replaced a 9000ES. My problem is that when I watch movies, some are very clear with no distortion whatsoever such as Lord of the Rings, Star Wars EP1 and 2...a lot of the demo quality discs, but on some scenes ...
