Strength:

Fast DVD tray, good button placement

Weakness:

DVD will not play but 10% of all DVD purchased or rented.

Simple & easy to use laidout form. Dvd tray opens and closes fast, buttons are positioned ok on remote and on the front face plate of the DVD player. Picture was about standard for DVD's not bad but not the clearest. Sound was ok, I would have liked more optins but...

Strength:

Has good easy to use menu and decent sound

Weakness:

Laser Pick up system and it's lack of wanting to work even babied for over a yeare

This player worked great for a time being...then it went to hell in a hand basket. Movies I watched for over a year wil no longer play in it. Keeps saying "No Play" then after 20-30 min of kicking it and dropping it it will change it's mind and play the movie. Brand New DVD's even don't want to play in it all the time.

Strength:

Decent picture

Weakness:

Audio quality is poor, won''t play CDR''s, starting to act up on DVD''s also. This is a throw away DVD player.

Picture quality is pretty good for a cheap player, audio leaves alot to be desired. Would not buy it again if I had it to do over . It has just recently started to have problems with DVD playback.

Weakness:

Shortly after the warranty expired the laser pick-up assembly began to malfunction. Repair will cost $150+. Quality control for this product''s components is obviously a detriment to longer term reliability.

Worked very well...for a while...then shutdown. Features are nice, but most consumers do expect them to work for somewhat more than 12 months. No?

Strength:

Simply to use and easy to hook-up. Has several output options including S-video and optical digital 5.1 output. Has excellent sound when used as a cd player. Great picture and sound from DVD's.

Weakness:

Does not play all cd formats such as cd-r and cd-rw, so I don't think assorted music mixes made on computers will work. Has to be used with a digital dolby/dts reciever to use those features, other wise it souhd great though my stero receiver.

Over all a good DVD/CD player for the money. It was a gift but I've seen the advetised for around $199.00.

Strength:

Easy to use. Attractive appearance. Great picture.

Weakness:

Has only 1 digital out (coaxial)

This is a very nice piece! Picture quality is excellent with good detail and contrast. Menu is accessible while in play mode and it returns to the point in the movie where you were. Random chapter access is easy as well. What I also like is the lack of motor noise during CD playback. It is completely silent! I don't know about you but I realy appreciate a quiet background during music listening. There is a bit more when the Panasonic spins DVD's but it is only noticeable when you're right in front of it. I wish the Toshiba SD1200 was as quiet as it sounded as noisy as some VCR's I've owned. The Panasonic A-115 was also a great value at $200 at Office Depot. If you're looking for good basic performance, check out this player!

Strength:

Picture and sound quality

Weakness:

none

This DVD player rocks! I've tryed several differet brands(Phillips, Pioneer, Sony, Samsung) and out of all of them this has been my favorite. The picture is outstanding and the soung is phenomenal. I first has it hooked up to a 10 year old pioneer with dolby pro logic and the sound was good. I recently purchased a Onkyo 575x DD reciever and the sound is outstanding.

Got it from Ubid at $125. Not one problem with it so far. I highly recommed this DVD player. I give it 5 stars for value and 5 for overall.

I got this refurbished from UBid for $115 plus shipping. It works great. This is my first DVD player and I honestly wasn't looking to invest much into it. I have it hooked up to RX-V2095 and Klipsch 10.5's and S5's...it's awesome. Granted that I haven't seen some of the other high-end players, but the picture quality is great and the sound is even better. My neighbors thought that another World War was upon us when I was watching Saving Private Ryan. It handls Matrix great, too. Have played many DVD's on it, no trouble so far.

Weakness:

I got it in Ebay as 168$, it's not new one. but perfect condition. I played 7dvd titles, VCD and Music CD
overall performance is very good in sound, screen etc.
but it has some faults like this
there is no component video out, simple design in my view, and can't play CDR.
But i recommend this player for AV beginer.
