Strength:

1.multi disc, picture quality

Weakness:

1.JVC relability history 2.JVC service history 3.orange front lights 4.Short warranty 4.unlit remote

Bought the unit for its dvd audio capabilities. Progressive scan is great, picture quality excellent on my 55 inch Mitsubishi widescreen. Carousel is noisy, but not worried about it. Orance lights on front light up when there is a disc in the corresponding tray, flashes the light if the disc is being played. The orange lights are very distracting and annoying, especially when all other components are dark for theater viewing. Display line is unreadable from couch, use on screen always. Remote is convienient and is a must to use the features of the player. Remote is glow lit, useless for using in the dark, only good if the lights were just on and energized the controls. Not all controls are glow lit. I plan on returning the unit when I can find another carousel unit with DVD audio due to JVCs' many poor reviews on their DVD players and horrible customer service. I would not recomend this unit. I had used it 2 weeks and then the drawer would not close. after forcing it, the bug went away, only to return regularly with no idea why.
