The Koss UR29 headphones are a lot of headphone for the price. They sound like very large high quality home speakers without the room effects that plague speakers [the speaker and room interaction problem]. The sound is surprisingly smooth top to bottom. And when I say top to bottom, I should also state that these headphones sound like they have a very wide frequency range. Bass is quite deep and the midrange and highs are seriously good also. There is a level control inline with the cord. That makes using these with laptops and other portables mighty easy. Because, I have so many portables _ and other things that use headphones _ I ended up buying several pairs of these. That may sound excessive , but trust me, it was worth it.
There are some things to be aware of. The inline level controls on any headphone can be a trouble spot. One of mine got slightly "scratchy sounding" when operating it. Carefully spraying it with some tuner spray resolved that minor problem. These are folding headphones. So, as with all such headphones, you need to pay attention as to not fold them the wrong way as that may result in breakage. The ear pads are replaceable. They are available right from Koss. Koss has been doing that with most of their headphones for a very long time. These headphones tends to be rather reveling about your equipment. In other words, if you use these with a poor source, some poor sound qualities might be noticed. But, used with a good source results in really pleasant sound. Overall, for the price that you'll pay over the counter at the dealer, I doubt that you'll be disappointed. The Koss UR29s are well worth it.
