Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $70.00 from online

Summary:
I got these headphones to use at work.
I need to be able to hear the phone so these open-aired sony's seemed a good choice.
They are extremely comfortable and sound great even if the treble is a bit harsh ocasionally.
As you can hear what goes on around you, other people will be able to hear what you are listening to as well, so
if you are using them in a very quiet environment, you have to use them with a bit of consideration.
My workplace is full of ambient noise and they pose no problem there.
All in all: nice headphones with a great fit and good sound.

Strengths:
comfortable, light, good sound

Weaknesses:
slightly harsh treble

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $52.00 from The Sony Store Toronto

Summary:
When compared to some of Sony's more expensive models, even at double the pric, these came out on top. Their sound quality, comfort and portability were great at this price level, just not great for listening in public environmets, like planes.

Strengths:
Quite Comfortable
Solid Bass and decent treble
Sound Clarity

Weaknesses:
Open Eared so they release a ton of noise, but that comes with the territory.

Similar Products Used:
Other Sonys, many older premium models

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
