Review NaN of , from Toronto, Ontario

Price Paid:  $40.00 from Future Shop

Summary:
These earphones were absolutely terrible. It promised good bass response on the packaging, but did not come close to providing good bass. Plus they were flimsy on the ear - and were not loud enough. I wish I could refund them - its too bad I threw away the packaging so soon.

Strengths:
None

Weaknesses:
Everything about it - clarity, bass response, design, etc.

Similar Products Used:
Other sony headphones, panasonic, etc.

Review NaN of , from Bootle, Merseyside, UK

Price Paid:  $25.00 from sony centre

Summary:
As an addendum to the above review, I have to admit to being wrong about these phones. To get them sounding at their best, remove the plastic styling covers, which look very nice in their Apple Mac-like translucent red colouring, but totally (and I mean TOTALLY)screw up the sound. All of a sudden the sound has more tonal colouring, more bass which, even if it doesn't plumb the absolute depths, still has warmth and melody, and a complete absence of the honk that drove me nuts in the first review! For the money, buy with confidence.

Strengths:
Very clear, clean and even sound sans fashion covers. Cheap as well.

Weaknesses:
Boring styling without the covers. In absolute terms the bass is a little light but these are only 25 quid! Finally, the cord that connects these phones appears to be fraying rather alarmingly in partsand is prone to getting kinked and entangled rather easily. however at this time, they are still working.

Review NaN of , from Bootle, Merseyside, UK

Price Paid:  $25.00 from sony centre

Summary:
A very portable, fairly well made and presented 'phone, which sadly doesn't cut it sonically. The sound is akin to a pair of cheapo £10 in ear units, with absolutely zilch tonal colour or warmth to it, an annoying honk in the upper mid which - even with a graphic EQ - I could not get rid of, and an amazingly tuneless and uneven bass. I've had other Sony mini phones a few years back that were cheaper, but totally outclassed these units, which was the reasoning behind my misguided faith in purchasing these, without being able to audition them first. Sorry, but Sony's design budget majored on the visual with these. Avoid like the plague!

Strengths:
Look good. Fairly well made. Comfortable.

Weaknesses:
For the money, they sound like tripe.

Similar Products Used:
Various other Sony phones. Sennheiser HD480 Classics.
