Strength:

Sound quality (for this price).
Closed phones.
Wearing comfort.

Weakness:

Mechanical impact to cable is heared in the phones.

Earlier I used the JVC HAG13, but after giving those away I was looking for some other cheap headphones with acceptable sound quality, preferably closed, with circumaural cushion pads because on-ear or in-ear phones tend to be literally painful to my ears. I found the then new Sennheiser HD 201, with a positive review, so I thought this might be exactly what I was looking for.

I have not been disappointed. Yes, they are really cheap, and therefor made of plastic. They don't look exactly stunning, but it could be worse, and to some youngsters they look good enough to have them connected to their MP3-players. They are comfortable enough to me. Only when you have very big ears, the cushion pads might prove too small. They tend to warm your ears, as any phones of this kind will. It depends on the temperatures and activities when waering these phone whether that is a pro or a con.

Allthough these are closed phones, sound insulation from outside is not very high. Sound insulation from inside is better than with open phones.

The cable is long enough (ca. 3 m), but mechanical impact on the cable is transmitted to the phones.

Sound quality is way better than to be expected. High tones don't get sharp soon, there is not too much colouration in the mid range, and bass is fairly thight and deep allthough a bit light. They also play loud enough for me, but these are not exeptionally loud-playing phones.

They do sound much better than the mentioned JVS's. The also gave me a better listening experience than the HD 212's, being way to bass-heavy.

Customer Service

Not used by me, so I have nothing to say about this.
