Bottom Line: I bought these headphones because I was sick of the cheap headphones I had been using for years. They looked very nice for the cost, and indeed, they are. I like the padded top, the volume control, and the long chord, but there are too many weaknesses for me to truly like this product. Firstly, the sound isn't very good. It's ok, but literlly the sound is you get what you pay for--nothing special here soundwise, they are completely average. They are also cheaply built--one step on them and you are on your way to the repair shop. Another disadvantage is the comfort. They grip your ears really tightly, and unless your ears are abnormally small, they won't fit. After extended use (45 minutes) you ears will begin to hurt and sweat. I reccomend headphones for the same cost that will fit completely over the ears.

Bottom Line: I bought these head phones because I needed something cheap and atleast decent to use late at night on my computer. I decided to buy these because of the cheap price. I have them hooked up to my stereo and my stereo hooked up to my computer, so I have 3 volume controls, one on computer (which is always max), one on my stereo (which is at 2 of 10) and the one on the phones (whick is maz also) and I know I can blow these phones, but I havnt tried yet, but I have gotten them to the point where my ears hurt. Good phones, but I still prefer sonys, but cant afford them. Buy them if you want to save money.

Bottom Line: These are awesome headphones. The bass is excellent for a headphone, and every sound can be heard with clarity. The stereo is excellent. The only drawbacks are that they are kind of tight and hurt the outside of my ears after extended listening, and that the cord is 8 feet long. After 2-3 years of use, I stepped on it one too many times and the wire separated from the volume control. I now have to remove the volume control and rewire them. I havent heard any of the high end Sennheiser phones or stereophones, but I don't see how the sound can improve too much. I would give them 5 stars all around for the value and performance, but mine broke.

Bottom Line: Good bang for the buck. I have them plugged into the iBook, my mobile typewriter/jukebox, and the sound quality is superb. I'm no pro, but they may actually be better than my friend's Koss 'phones. Light enough I can wear them in front of the computer for hours (I've maxxed out at about five hours), take them travelling, etc. They very effectively shut out ambient noise, which, as a travelling writer needing to immerse myself in my work, is a big plus. On the down side, they are a bit tight over the ears. I wear glasses, and have found I need to pull the temples out from behind my ears/beneath the 'phones if I'm going to be listening to music for any duration, otherwise the pinch does give a headache. My pair actually just pooked out -left side went dead- which I think is a cord problem. I'm looking for either a repair or replace -same model.
