Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Fairview Electronics

Summary:
This review is actually for the K500 headphones which were launched by AKG for the 1992 model year. K400 look and sound the same. The K500s have been the best pair of headphones that I have ever owned. I love the sound, they are not too bassy or screechy like some other models that I looked at back in '92. I have used these headphone regularly for 11 years now and I have replaced the drivers twice. AKG headphones are built to last and be serviced. Some of the other makes I have used in the past would be ready for landfill once one of the speakers wore out or most of the time the wire inside the headphone would dry out and detach.

Strengths:
Very comfortable, will not give you "headphone head", and you can listen to them for hours without discomfort. The sound: they sound great no matter what the source: LP, CD or Cassette.

Weaknesses:
None!
