Review 2 of 2

Summary:
This is the lowest headphone model from the European company. Just like all of AKG's products, this one comes with a headphone jack adapter. Suffice to say that I'm completely disappointed with its performance. The sound seems muddled and it can be heard loudly from the other side of the room. The soundstage is wider than most excellent earphones but that is to be expected. At $24, I've heard better mass produced headphones than the K-70. AKG's top of the line model (forgot the #) sounds much better but still falls short compared to other headphones costing $120. I guess this is one company to avoid. On the plus side, AKG headphones are some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. But in the end it's all about sound, ne?

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
