Strength:

Contrast & Widescreen , low cost , easy setup, short projection for 100"

Weakness:

not HD ready. needs Component cables for maximum performance. original DVDs for viewing. lamp cost.

2 Years of enjoyment and still going on.

My overriding desires in acquiring this PJ are Contrast Ratio & Widescreen(DVD),
Contrast Ratio gives realism & depth to film reproduction and Widescreen for Cinematic effect. It uses 5-segment color wheel, (yellow is added which IMO adds to natural reproduction of colors, flesh tones in particular) other than RGB commonly.
Projecting distance of 10ft, creates 73" diagonal size, like big plasma TV. Screen Door Effect is almost undetected at 10ft already (DLP advantage?). There is rainbow effect if you focus on the subject (due to 2x rotation speed), its psychological, you can set your mind not seeing it, as if nothing occurred, and will not hamper you from enjoying the movie. It only affects very bright objects against dark background. There's a bit blurring or ghosting using Composite(video), you're better off with Component (480p) cables for solid image reproduction. I also noticed some movies too dark to be seen from (Economic) mode, but can easily switched to (Cinema) mode or (Video) mode, but not (Gaming) mode which
results to uneven distribution of contrast. Remote is cleverly designed with button
to light up the pad, and 3 aspect ratio selection (16:9 - 4:3 - Real). The latter is a bit smaller than the former. The default setup does perfectly fine in picture quality. My experience obliged, to set it to (Cinema) mode and re-adjust its brightness(50), contrast(50), and sharpness(2/3) according to calibre of recorded dvd movies.
Absolute sharpness level (4) tends to digitize the projected image, middle value (2 or 3) is ok. I've seen jagged edge which can be remove using Faroudja DCDi equipped players. I'm still fiddling with controls to get the optimum viewing quality in comparison to CRT TV.
A best buy product for me. I suggest you do some research, allot some time for testing
and compare it to others if possible (choice/preference), in the realms of your budget. Have a nice day. God Bless
