Strength:

unpresidented clarity at all levels of volume, deep tight bass, crisp clear highs, and solid clean mids even to a trained ear.

Weakness:

simple black cabinets, if that qualifies as a weakness.

A family member talked me into Purchasing these speakers several yrs ago and was by far the best investment i have ever made in a speaker. The 650's are just plain incredible,They bring a whole new life to pink floyd "dark side of the moon" or alice in chains unplugged, they honestly make you feel like your right there, not to mention there ability to ROAR crystal clear at sickening chest pounding volumes.

Strength:

Wonderful bass response and accurate reproduction of vocals and high frequencies

Weakness:

not much to look at if that matters to you

I acutually own five of the ac-650''S three of which I use as my front stage of my home theater. I don''t deny their are much better speakers availiable today but the AC-650''s are absolutely incredible, first of all at their price (even if you pay retail) and second of all their very small simple design. I also own other products by Pinnacle and had equal preasure from them as well. By the way, my elctronics consist of a Denon receiver and an Adcom amp runing the two front main speakers. Everyone that hears my setup are very impressed with the AC-650''s

Strength:

Great bass and Highs....price price price. will rival alot of 1000 dollar speakers......

Weakness:

Mids are a tad weak for my taste..but still very good...about as asthetically appealing as a door stop.

I bought these to use as bedroom speakers.....I set them on top of my polk audio sda-crs and was blown away by these little buggers. I have since given the sda's to my 12 year old cousin and am listening to these as my main speaker. I still plan on useing them in the bedroom but now im in no real hury to find a main room speaker because these are sooooo good. I cant believe how good the bass is for such a small cabinet....crisp, no distortion...I find myself looking at them trying to figure out where all that sound is coming from. Just played ac dc and cheap trick at a rather high volume and was uterlly amazed.....they are a great rock speaker......and a really good clasical speaker.....I love them on jazz too except when I turn up the volume on diana kralls voice it looses somthing....cant really explain what tho.....For the price you cant go wrong with these pupies.....great for anyone with limited funds and space.....perfect for a teenager/college student/GI(barracks speaker.)

Strength:

sounded great-did not cost much--

Weakness:

none

The AC-650's are a great small speaker, one of the best sounding speaker's I've heard...And I paid under 2 bills for them. I ran them with the carver power cube--NO PROBLEM, Nice high's and real good lows. All my music sounded good on them..and Let me tell you I played them hard, very hard at times--they took a licking and kept on a ticken... a real good looking speaker to boot.. I've had over 30 different pairs of speakers in my life and I can say that the AC-650 sunded as good and or better then some I payed $500 for...Just an all around good speaker....Im sorry I sold them....

I can't recommend these highly enough. Pinnacle has done a fantastic job. I managed to get a floor pair for $250 but even at $350 or more they are an excellent value.
The bass is deep but not unnaturally punchy because of Pinnacle's bass vent innovation for their speakers, the midrange is non-fatiguing and clear despite the two-way design, and the treble sparkles without being ostentatious. I need no subwoofer and with TV/movie soundtracks the clarity is astonishing.

I have not heard a speaker that can compare for even three times the price. Now if I could only upgrade my CD and amp I'd really hear these things hum! And don't have anything less than 12-gauge wire to hook them up with, anything less is a waste of your money.

Strength:

value, fidelity

Weakness:

look kinda cheap (plain design)

The speakers are probably the best music and HT speakers you can buy under $1000. The reproduce music incredibly well and HT equally well (obviously). For somebody on a budget (or any person who is not stupid. . .), these speakers are worth a look/hear.

other components: yamaha receiver, Pinnacle center and rears, energy sub.

These speakers are a tremendous value. I am recently back into vinyl. Bose 301's seem muddled compared to the AC650's. I paid $287 with frt. I hear instruments on my favorite cd's that I never knew were there!

I bought entire Pinnacle HT less sub; AC650's front, AC Center, AC 3000's rear. I had a pair of Pin's 10 years ago and enjoyed them, after reading many reviews and listening to many speakers, I bought these unheard directly from Pinnacle.
I was pretty satisfied to begin with, but realized the midrange was too weak for my tastes (Sinatra just wasn't realistic enough). I bought a pair of B&W 602's and did an A/B comparison in my home. The B&W's blew away the Pin's as I thought they would (I know, they should for $500 vs. $260 for the AC650's). For me, I would have regretted keeping the Pin's.

For the money, I would still highly recommend you take a listen, among NHT, B&W 302's at $250 or less, and Paradigm Mini-Monitors.

Overall, a 3 rating, for the value 4. Build quality is average, but with good binding posts.

Very crisp highs and lows.

I have had these since the review in Stereo Review Magazine in 1994 or '95. These are an unbeatable value. They work well for both cinema and music applications. I would buy another pair in a heartbeat! Also, 7yr. transferrable warranty, not many other companies out there doing that.
