Strength:

Strength: Excellent bass Cost I purchased these speakers brand new and auditioned them in the show room. They sounded very clear and loud and were on sale, so I decided to buy them. When I got home I got the shock of my life. I didn't factor in that these speakers are so powerful that they can bounce sound waves all over the room. If you have timber flooring and concreted walls, they certainly will provide you sonic bouncing soundwaves unless you add a large rug to the floor to absorb some of the sound. The 2 ten inch woofers are amazing, and when driven by my Mirantz receiver, (and in direct mode) these speakers will have the Police arrive at your doorstep very quickly. Good clean Rock n Roll sounding speaker.

Weakness:

Cons: Horrible Tweeters These speakers have a Titanium laminate Tweeter that just sounds muddy. There's also an imbalance at the top of the frequency range of the mids, but with an E.Q you can alter this. I do not know why JBL changed the Tweeters to this generic laminate type. I can guess to save some money. The previous Titanium Dome Tweeter T-338's were a lot smother.

Strength:

They can handle power especially low end! I have a nakamichi av-2 and an av-10 rated at 70, 80w, 120w respectively. The av-2 pushes them and sounds good for its 70-80 w power but hookup the av-10 and it powers them terrifically. Its like they're made for one another! I used to put on Staind's, "It's Been Awhile" , "So Far Away" and a few others to discourage my neighbors from partying too loud (I lived in an old rowhouse where the walls were 2-3 ft thick but the floor joists carried that BASS like the walls were regular sheetrock in an apt!!!! WOO Wee!!!! They're rated at 250w continuous but handle 800-1000w peaks and YES they do!

Weakness:

Not enough highs, may be blown but still sounds great. I read that the tweeters are weak so I'm considering replacing them with something that has more zing. Even though, as I recall I played this one vivaldi tune where the end of the tune reaches a climax and they use an instrument sound to make it sound like a hammer hitting an anvil and it PIERCES one's ears like a shot in a small room!

Strength:

There loud. Sensitive.

Weakness:

As of 2018...I bought used and crossovers and tweeters were blown. I had to replace with different tweeters where unavailable. And I replaced all the cap 2 each in the crossovers with higher voltages values. Midrange is a bit weak probably because pushing 2 woofers and one mid. Im considering some other mods...

Theses speakers are just amazing,WOW. I mean that they sound so crisp. I have had these speakers since 2001 or so. have not had the problems that some other people have had, in fact i do like a fair share of bass so one day i decided to pop in Rhianna's "PON DE REPLAY" WHICH BY THE WAY CARRIES ALOT OF BASS AND I DO MEAN ALOT ... I couldn't even take the bass out out the song through the receiver (old school pioneer) I even have a ten band equalizer............ so is it just me or do i just need to update my receiver, it's at least 13 years old.... Other than that they ARE AN AWESOME SET OF SPEAKERS, great sound, great quality.
I will recommend these to anyone that has an ear for great crisp sounding music. one more thing that if can or are able to turn them up LOUD, I will guarantee that someone will be knocking on your door.
