of course a small speaker is weak in the lows -also these speakers can be too bright and demanding even of old ears-I use a sub woofer with them to obtain more full response

A small powerful amp/speaker system that is quite satisfactory but has some drawbacks, Originally chosen using side by side comparisons looking for truthfullness in sound using a variety of sources.
I use them driven either from the computer using a high end sound card or from the output of my main amplifier 100 feet away.
I sit about 5 feet from the speakers so certainly get the near field.
