Strength:

Found a pristine used pair after all these years and they still shine in the highs and lows given their size (vs my B&W 602 S3 for comparison). The cult following, therefore being undervalued (vs say KEFs or B&Ws), makes them easy to score on the cheap.

Weakness:

None at this point.

Strength:

The sound quality is intense and vibrate

Weakness:

must be purchased with the stands to get the proper sound quality.

I have had my Eosone RSF-200 speakers for over a year now and have been very statified with their rich highs and deep lows. They are used as my rear speakers with the Infinity RS-8's as my front and a pair of Bose 200-series as my centers, with a Sony STR-DE935 reciever. The sound for music as well as surround-sound on my DVD is magnificent. While I am here may I suggest to everyone in to music and DVD the ideal of getting a Philips -Pronto remote it can do wonders on reducing the clutter of multiple remotes.

Strength:

Very well built and considering their size, exceptional frequency response.

Weakness:

No longer manufactured. Replacement parts might be hard to locate.

It's a shame these bad boys aren't being made anymore. I purchased these from Best Buy and I can tell you truthfully that after checking out just about everything the store could throw at me to try out, these were the best speakers hands down. Some may say that they're a bit "hot" on the high end, but what are tones control for if not to tailor the sound to your taste? :-)
The tweeter in the back of the cabinet disperses the sound well which opens up the sound stage to a degree not expected from a speaker this size. I have these speakers linked with a Eosone subwoofer and you wouldn't believe the energy they put out.
Too bad they aren't made anymore, so if you happen to come across a pair, snatch them up. You won't be sorry!

I purchased a pair of Eosone 200's for $250 (open box) not expecting to really like them because they were sold at Best Buy. My original plan was to purchase a set of M&k's. I have a Pioneer VSX-607S and to my surprise they handle music as well as HT well. I've listened to everything from classical to rap on them and the range from highs, mids and lows sound precise and full. These speakers require a good amp to appreciate what they can do. I also hooked them up to an older receiver pushing only 70w and there was a big difference. These speakers need at least 100w to appreciate. I also purchased an Eosone 912 sub and for HT it ranks up there with the best. For the price you can't do much better.

At $400 a pair, this is probably the best speaker BestBuy carries. Ok, so BB is not the ideal place to shop speakers. But, you can still do some A/B comparision at least. It is very easy to tell the Eosone is the best line they have, but it is quite surprise for me to find out that within the Eosone line, the RSF200 sounded best. It has wide sound stage. Reasonable good definitions with highs and mids with the BB's sound track selection. Bass is limited due to the size, but overall it is better than the 400, 600 and 1000. Since Eoson is only carry by BB in my area, it is hard to say how it compares to others. Given it the benifit of doubt, four speakers.

I work at Best Buy and I must tell you that this is the best speaker we carry.
The only thing I don't quite like about them is the bipoler design. I think
this accounts for alot of complaints about the high end. But they are as
good as you can get at Best Buy. By the way they are not some slapped together
speaker. They were designed by Arnie Nudell, the Infinity guy. So some
serious thought was put into these babies.

I think that these speakers are some of the best that I have heard in a while for the amount of money that i was able to spend. I got them at Best Buy, but I think that they are above Best Buy's level. I just went with one of my freinds to help him buy his home theater system and he bought paridgm speakers. In my opinion I think that the Eosone's sound better. I also have the sub and rear speaker set. This provides a wide and rich sound stage for anything from movies to musical materpieces. I would reccommed them to anyone who loves an affordable speaker for the amount of quality they give you.

Replaced a blown pair of Bose 201's on a return for the same price back in late '98 and what a difference for $200. These speakers can seem to sound a little bright depending on the placement near walls to rear of the speaker. Overall a hard speaker to beat for the budget sound system.

After shopping around, the RSF 200 were the speakers I bought. If I wanted better speakers, I would have had to spend a whole lot more money. Overall, they sound really good, and distribute the sound well throughout the room. I here things in the music I listen to that was not nearly as apparent as compared to my old rack system. My only compaint is that they do seem a little strong on the high end. I believe their suggested retail price is about $500 dollars, and would give them a four if purchased at that. But I got mine for much less, and believe they usually sell for less. With that in mind, I'll give them a five.

Strength:

Great value - very detailed sound - better than average fit and finish.

Weakness:

High end can sound a little "hot" to some - ruthlessly revealing of low-fi electronics.

Crutchfield is currently selling these for $200 a pair.
You can find them on their web site (December 99). Considering the original list price was $600, the price
that Crutchfield is selling them for is a real bargain ($200). They have a very detailed sound - some may think that the high end is a little too "hot" but for the most part they are very balanced and natural sounding. They are very revealing - if you have cheap electronics, they will pass that sound on to you. I previously owned a pair of RSF 400s and was not entirely happy with them. The RSF 200 was the entry level model in the Eosone line and for the most part I think it is the best sounding one of the entire line. It is much easier to design a two way system than a three or four way one. These speakers were designed by Arnie Nudell of Infinity and Genesis fame. He is a brilliant designer of speakers and it is really unfortunate that this line was unsuccessful. This may be your last chance to pick up a pair - brand new. Try em out - I think you will like what you hear.
