Energy Speaker Systems Audissey APS 5+2 Floorstanding Speakers

Energy Speaker Systems Audissey APS 5+2 Floorstanding Speakers

DESCRIPTION

The only way to improve upon the A5+2 would be to integrate a 150-watt RMS MOSFET powered amplifier into each speaker. This amplifier is custom tuned to extract the best and flattest bass response possible from the enclosure. With multiple connection options, and full control over the bass response, the APS5+2 is the flagship of the Audissey series.

Strength:

These speakers are overall great for home theatre as stereo duties alike. These guys throwout a vast and enveloping sound stage. I've been using them on and off since early 2000, and still love them very much. It's been handling the theatre duties for the past eight or so years, they're almost full range due to their built in powered subs. I'm a fan of Energy speakers, not sure of the new product line up, started with Connoisseur reference 22, Connoisseur c2 c3 C4 ( great ) c5 c6 c7 C9 ( excellent ) Veritas 2.2i / 2.3i

Weakness:

Nothing to mention, maybe need some breathing room to sound great, due to side fiering powered subs.

Strength:

Great fit and finish, look great also! Sounds good in many locations and has no flat spots. Great bass response without sucking the power from your receiver. And oh yeah, they weigh a ton! 96 lbs each!

Weakness:

They weigh a ton!

Awesome speakers! I have listened to a lot of speakers and these are by far the best I''''ve heard and enjoyed even over some costing much more. These were selling at up to $2500 a pair and would be worth every penny. Very open sound with excellent highs, mids and bass. You must experiment with the woofer controls to get the best sound but they do rock. It is the first speaker that I have found that I love and sounds good on both movies and music. It always seems that you give up one thing for the other on a lot of speakers. I read some of the other reviews of this speaker on the other listing and several people either seem to not know how to set up a speaker or just didn''''t care about good information to give to others. Even the guy that said he works for Good Guys didn''''t know that the list price was $2500 a pair! It is a sad day when sales people don''''t know their own products! I know several other people that bought these after hearing mine and they all love them too! You know they sound great when my wife noticed the difference and loved them!
