Strength:

Clear transparent sound. Vocals are outstanding.

Weakness:

Frequency response is not perfectly flat, but then nothing is. I briefly tried a 24 bit studio equalizer system from BEhringer to level the audio frequency reponse using a calibrated RTA microphone. The effect of level frequency response is fantastic, however I did not keep the system connected because it compromised the clarity and beauty of pure single ended audio system output.

I purchased the Eminent Technology LFT-11 to go with a PASS Aleph 30 single ended amplifier coupled to my computer through a Terratec 24 bit studio sound card. I work as a consulting engineer doing many drawings and reports each day. I wanted an outstanding audio system to keep me working at the computer longer each day. ROI and cost benefit justification. The LFT-11's are outstanding and durable. After 19 months of use, nothing has happened to cause a decline in audio quality like every other computer speaker system I have used. Most audio systems are not capable of 2,000 hours of use per year. The sound is clear and transparent. Vocals are entrancing. I now buy more opera and stage musicals. I used to hate vocal music through audio systems. Classical ballets, concertos, organ music, piano are truly amazing. Good recordings only need apply. Bad recordings become evident and deserve to be chucked. This system surpasses most home audio systems. Keep in mind, the PASS Aleph 30 amplifier is the sweetest transistor amplifier made at 30 watts per channel. The ultimate in computer audio. Very inefficient pure class A with 240 watts of heat radiating from a shelf near my feet under my desk. Retail is $2000, however one dealer has stock at 1/3 off. The LFT-11's are very heavy construction and made to order. They don't vibrate. Finishes are your choice, however Oak seems to be more avaiable. Summary: You need a fair amount of high quality amplifier power for the LFT-11's. They will reveal diffciencies in your audio system and choice of recordings. These are not consumer toys. No plastic.

These are probably the only true high end multimedia speakers on the market
today. The construction quality is superb (solid oak, beatifully finished)
and they look as if they could last a lifetime. The company ( Eminent Technology) licensed the design of these speakers to Monsoon, which puts
out a cheap plastic version for around $200. The LFT-11's remind me of mini desktop Magnepans. For music listening alone, these speakers are a joy
to listen to. The palpability of the voices is astonishing. I would recommend these speakers to anyone looking for audio speakers under $1,000 for the office,
or bedroom. If you are going to use it for computer sound only, I would recommend getting something less expensive.
