Strength:

Well, great sound.

Weakness:

Not the best value, maybe.

I first bought Dynaudio Audience 80's. I was really impressed and upgraded to Contour 2.5 T's. Although the detail was great, I was not satisfied with the lows on 2.5's. When I saw a good deal on these, I jumped in. They are great, but not worth the huge price difference between the Audience 80's, in my opinion. I will downgrade to Audience 80's at some point. I will not call Contour 3.3's over-priced, but maybe Audience 80's are over-performing. Associated equipment was Arcam A85 and very nice 14 gauge cables.

Strength:

Neutral
Bass is deep and controlled
The best midrange I ever heard
Treeble as good as it gets

Weakness:

Needs a loot of power.

I just bought this pair from a friend of a friend. I got at 1/5 of the original listprice in Norway.
I have had a lot of speakers the last 15 years, from CW to KEF. But this is the most rewarding and capable of them all. And yessir, they can boogie.

Strength:

Everything. It is a high end speaker.

Weakness:

Need a very good setup. Does'nt it evry speaker does.

This is my second review on Contour and probably the last one. It is sweet and emotionally involved with music. It has an extra ordinary vocal which I love most, again sweet and very natural vocal. Beautiful imagination and huge and I must say again huge soundstage. I do not know whether everyone who has this speaker is getting the same effect like I am getting. As Aero is doing a wonderful job and Contour is playing them with ease. If you can find one pls do buy them, as they are worth buying. I have some friend’s come over to review this speaker, and they all uses at least 10K speaker. They all agreed that Contour is a wonderful speaker; they can’t even believe their ear. Since I wrote about Contour last time I have upgraded my system in many ways. Now my system is as follows: Source: Audio Aero Capitole Reference SE Pre: Krell KSL 2 Amp. Bryston 4B SST All Power Cords: Harmonic Tech AC 11 Interconnects: Guarilla Audio Speaker Cable: Harmonic Tech Pro 9 Plus Online UPS for Power.

Strength:

Sweet, Beautifull Bas and wonderfull vocal. Full of detailed.

Weakness:

Very Tall and weight about 88 Lbs.

It is an amazing speaker without any doubt. Outstanding performance. It has full control over the music you play. Most of all for $4,400 it is a steal. It was $7,000 before. It should be priced over $10,000. I did not heard many good speakers but a few and among them are Swan, PMC, OB1 & 2, IB2, Herbet etc. And frankly speaking none of them are even come close to Contour 3.3 in overall performance. Pls do not forget among them, some are over $10,000 speaker. I maybe wrong but this is my honest judgment on Contour. I have had this speaker for only three days and it is still burning, do not know what will happened after full burn in. I am driving them with the following component: CD Player: Marantz SA8400 DAC: Benchmark DAC 1 Pre: Krell KSL 2 Power: Bryston 4B SST Speaker Cable: Ocos with Eichmann Banana. Digital Cable: Slinkylinks Interconnects: Guarilla Audio Power Line : Amoco Online Conditioner. Power Cable: Harmonic Tech AC Pro II (With Power, Pre and Dac.) And a Osonic Power cord with Pre. One thing I must say that Dyna needs power to sing, that I have learnt while using Dynaudio Audience 70. You give them adequate power and they will sing for you. This is my first review (It is more like appreciation rather than review) on Contour 3.3 and I will write a another one after burning up. But tell you what, I believe my search for the right speaker is over, as you all know that people like us will never stop searching for good sound. Thank you Dynaudio for outstanding work and pls do keep up with good work. They have a new Contour serious now and I wonder how they will sound.

Strength:

Clarity. Control. Imaging. Natural and accurate mids and highs. Tight and pleasing bass. Nice binding posts.

Weakness:

Extreme low range lacks punch (under 32 hz) Placement requires some work. Cheapo grills (but who needs them?). Requires an amp with some real power. Upstream components make a huge difference. These speakers won't hide inferior components.

I've spend years listening to different speakers in homes and showrooms before settling on a few I really enjoyed. Every speaker is going to have a unique sound in the room it is located, but I felt the Dynaudio's were the most neutral of all listened in my price range. I don't like speakers that are too warm or too shrill. At $7,000 retail the Dynaudio's are not inexpensive. The little brother to the 3.3's, the Dynaudio 3.0, is very similiar, and I would have gone with this if I didn't think I needed a little more in the bass for my taste. Male and female vocals are very true and accurate. Control on these speakers is outstanding, if not amazing. There is absolutly no bloat in the bass, and the midrange is tight, neutral and accurate. Not too warm. Not too dry. Imaging is good - though the Audio Physic and ProAc speakers in the same price range may do a better job. These speakers excel at most every type of musical genre except, perhaps, techno and poorly recorded hard rock - there is just too much control for songs you are used to hearing with bloated and booming bass. These speakers (4ohm) require a good amplifier with a lot of power. 60W tubes will work, but I'd get over 150W to make them sing. The speakers are overall very musical and I would certainly recommend them. I have not heard the new Dynaudio's that replace the 3.3's (the previous Contour line was replaced this year).

I’ve had these speakers for more than a year now and they continue to impress me. They have such an open soundstage. The bass is real and tight. They produce fantastic detail and clarity. I can listen to them all day because they are so sweet and non-fatiguing. The imaging is awesome and they have rich harmonics. They produce a realism that other speakers can’t touch. The finish is beautiful and the cabinets are solid. All of this plus the speaker is extremely neutral. I highly recommend these to anyone who enjoys realistic music.

Weakness:

Lean in the bass - too heavy to bring along on holydays

I can't believe that you guys pay 7000$ for these speakers allthough they are worth it. On the other hand - at 4900 in Denmark it's a bargain !!!

Strength:

Build quality and sound.

Weakness:

Cost, but everything is at this level.

I’ve been searching for a speaker that could handle all types of music as well as Home Theater for one year now. I’ve listened to dozens of speakers in the 3k to 7k range. Nothing impressed me enough to reach into my wallet until I heard the Contour 3.3. The Contour 3.3 is the only Audiophile grade speaker that I’ve found that sounds good with everything. Most Audiophile speakers just sound good with classical and jazz, but these beauties are amazing. They have a wonderful soundstage and transparency. The midrange and tweeter are the best that I’ve heard. The bass is deep and tight. Another great thing is that you don’t need super high-end equipment to make the 3.3’s sound good. They sound better with expensive gear, but you can run these off of a receiver. You wouldn’t want to try that with other speakers.
