Bottom Line:
Bought the concept 6 secondhand for 1/3 of the new price. After the somewhat better and more expensive zensor series was launched the secondhand marked is flooded with the concept 6 in Scandinavia. All thou the concepts do have their faults, they are unbeatable in the price range. They where good for their price range new, but now you can get them super cheap secondhand.

The sound is, compared to older dali speakers, much more on the bright side. The tweeter in the concept range is quite energetic and can in some living rooms with a lot of blank walls and little furniture sound a tad bright. They do however provide an amazing amount of detail and air. Playing jazz or blues on these speakers are a amazing experience. After acoustic measures in my living room, the sound is amazing and the tweeter does not sound to bright for me. Bass is very controlled and correct, but could be a little deeper and punchy. If you listen to a lot of rock and electronic music, go for the bigger concept 8 or find something else altogether, like the zensor 7.

Bottom Line:
I am using a pair of these for a year now, and I cannot notice any weaknesses. When driving with very powerful "high end" amplifier, it shows some weakness in the low bass, but it is only present at really high volume. The sound has enough detail, and sound stage is 3D, for this price it is very recommended for those who do not want to hear the character of a speaker, but the music itself. This speaker remains in the background, with balanced sound. A real all rounder.

Bottom Line:
We searched for a year or so. We wanted an economical, compact floor stander without serious compromises, for music (all kinds) as well as home theatre. It had to sound great on orchestra and also handle the sound effects of movie sound tracks - a tough call.
We wanted extended bass and a very level frequency response.
We are used to the sound of our old pair of Tannoy Monitor Golds (12 inch HPD drivers), which are very clean, extended and present an excellent sound stage, but are too big for our crouded loungeroom..

The concept 6 manages to "almost"d eliver the above for a very resonable price -To explain the low cost - they are manufactured in China to a Dali design. Compared to the Tannoys, really deep bass is missing, but I am very impressed with the tweeter in the concept 6 - presents a very "open" sound with quite a lot of imaging depth. Unless you A-B test, you don't really miss the deep bass, as the overall sound is just so well balanced. They can go loud as well, the two 6 inch bass/mid drivers seem un-flappable.

To make up for the lack of deep bass below 50Hz we just added the matching Concept Sub (12 inch, 160 watt), and after some careful tuning, the total result is quite astonishing.
With the sub, this system compares favourably with systems costing $3000 and over.
Recommended for great sound on a budget, but definitely consider adding the sub.
