Ayon is an Austrian company not well-known in the US but is one of the finest in the world. Noted for their top tier tube amplifiers and CD players they also offer a line of upscale loudspeakers. I own the Raptor S model and use it with an Ayon Spirit II integrated amp and CD2 player.

Two of the most obvious things notice when using the speakers are that they are very sensitive, meaning they do not need a large power amp to deliver high sound pressure levels. The other thing is that they throw a wide, deep soundstage that allows a listener to easily discern where performers were standing during the original performance. There is also a enormous wealth of musical detail delivered from quality music sources. Anyone used to MP3s will immediately understand that they have been missing out on a large part of their favorite music.

These speakers are physically fairly large (4'x 2' x 1") and weigh about 130 lb. each, but once properly placed they offer a musical presentation that approaches a live performance.

Synergistic Research cables work quite well Ayon equipment.
