Strength:

Responds well to transients and is not overbearing as some subwoofers can be.

Weakness:

All of the weaknesses that I discovered have been rectified in the Mk II which was mainly that it didn't have a stereo line in connection.

This is quite an acurate subwoofer with character. It actually goes lower than 27 Hz but maybe that is due to a variation in component specs.

I have found that it is unassuming whilst listening to classical music and reproduces the characteristics of deep instruments acurately to a degree of being able to discern between different instruments.

I have only used the lower end of the audio spectrum between 27 Hz up to 52 Hz which is where my satelites take over.

I did find that connecting the subwoofer in parallel with the satelites lent a less aggressive sound and a more complete sound stage.

I have just upgraded to another Audio Pro subwoofer, the Avanti SW500 but will wait a while before reviewing this.

Strength:

- Plays loud, can deliver earthquakes if you want it to. - Bass doesn't get muddy at higher volumes. - Deep clear sound for such a small price.

Weakness:

- A bit slow for some music - A hassle to set up (But that goes for pretty much every sub I guess)

This is an amazing sub. I'm very happy I bought it. I always felt the need for that extra punch of bass with my other speakers. Now with the Sub Evidence listeing to music and watching music is great! The sub looks pretty good. The placing is always a bit of a hassle but once you've find the the best spot for this sub it just blows you away especially with HT. Listeing to music with it is also very nice but it seems to be a little slow in some music. But overall, I think you'll have a hard time finding a better sub for the money.

Strength:

Plays loud w/o distortion; pretty flat and clean. Small size, solidly built.

Weakness:

No phase control, no wood veneer.

This is a very good bargain priced sub. Plays loud and quite cleanly to below 30 hz. Great for movies, R&R, blues. Solid cabinets help, and the AceBass woofer compensation design is a real find. Not as tight and defined as the high priced stuff, but for the $ I know of no serious competition.

Strength:

- Very low and massive bass for such a small subwoofer
- Inside built quality is very good

Weakness:

- Sometimes a bit muddy not too fast for music good for HT

I had tested the Sub Evidence some time ago already for quite some time (My dealer is a very good chap :-)
Though my Magnat SW was faster and had some more punch in
the upper bass range the Sub Evidence simply reaches much
deeper hence is more suitable for HT application.
It really can make your doors shake and is quite impressive
considered how small the enclosure is.
When I finally purchased the unit (I had it returned after the test and bought it 1/2 year later on) my dealer was quite happy and gave me a good price around 250 U$ equiv. which was some bucks off the recommended price.
This unit is the Oak color version and fits much better with my furniture anyway. As built quality inside & outside is nice it fits quite well in my interiour.
Highly recommended.

Strength:

Powerful and tight bass to music and heavy bass to movies.
Very cutelooking, it almost takes no space at all!!

Weakness:

Bad "original"-cabel.

A very good subwoofer and it´s also very cheap.
Sounds like twice as exepensive.
Good good!

Strength:

Deep bass, loud, doesn't clip!

Weakness:

Lack of phase switch,

This products has an awesome price/quality ratio; in my opinion it's just a bit under the velodyne ct-100 priced (here in italy) well above 600$. It's a fast sub, slightly aggressive, and perfect for home theater. The velodyne it's a little faster, just above the Audiopro in music, but in ht use the bass produced by the Audiopro is just incredible!
Awesome products....Sure I'll look for other Audiopro gear ASAP!!!

Strength:

Small, very loud, clean output for price. Doesn't seem to clip!

Weakness:

No reasonable complaints at this price.

Ridiculously good for the money. Every other sub i have heard in this price range bottoms out easily and clips the amplifier often with home theater material. This sub seems to just stop getting louder, rather than distort. I'm not sure how they do it, but this "ace-bass" stuff works! Mine is under my stairs and it still blends well with my in-wall speakers and fills the room with very full bass! The opening of Toy Story 2 rattles and shakes the paintings on my walls!

I don't think you can get a better sub for under $1000. I have friends with much more expensive subs that don't sound half as good!

I'm going to try to get ahold of some other Audio Pro gear!

Strength:

Very much "bang for the buck". Sounds very good and looks very good as well.

Weakness:

None

What can I say, it's superb. Especially if you think of the price/performance relationship. Very nice both for music and movie sound.

Strength:

Ass kicking low end, plenty of volume, small footprint, blends well with my bookshelves.

Weakness:

No output for daisy chaining.

This sub kicked ass. I had borrowed a Sunfire 8" from a friend and it was awesome. I couldn't afford my own, so I had to buy something else. My budget was only $500. I then bought an Energy 8" from a local dealer and sold it the next day.

I stumbed across this relatevly new product and gave it a shot. I was amazed.

No, it did not put out as much as the Sunfire, but damn near. I think it even had a little better tonal balance.

Go out and get one now.

Strength:

No mechanical sounds from cabinet even when played hard, it doesn't sound boomy. Quite small and very easy to use. Well built cabinet (I opened it) with a good quality bass unit.

Weakness:

Doesn't reach anything under 25Hz, can sound muddy on hard material. perhaps a little slow and no so "punchy" compared to REL. Speaker terminals (spring clips).

I primarily bought this subwoofer to use as an extra bass unit when I watch movies, and for that purpose I think it is great. Its sounds big and gets you right in to the heart of the movie (bass). Sure it can play music to but it is not as clear and fast as I hope it could be. But at medium volumes and easy music it's great and for only $200.

My conclusion:

Similar in sound and construction as DALI SWA 8 at $400, but hasn't got a chance against REL Strata II $800 (another price and league)
