Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $210.00 from www.epinions.com

Summary:
MZ-R700PC is a great player. I used to have an MP3, but I changed it for this MD. You can storage more music than in your MP3, sounds better, and once you are tired of listening to any type of music you change the MD and listen other stuff. Sound quality is great, three types of bass, 5 types of playing mode, etc... MD is the best choice!

Strengths:
Lightweight, small, magnesium cap, battery lasts long and is rechargable, good sound, PC Link.

Weaknesses:
Comes with cheap Headphones, engine does a lot of noice, remote control could be better, LCD doesn´t have backlight.

Similar Products Used:
Nike MP3 Player, Sony MP3 discman

This is a sweet piece of kit and I have had no trouble with it and I advise anyone to get it, it's a lot better then Sharp and JVC crap, they are just cheap and unrealiable.

Strengths:
Sound, sound quality, Recording time, Uses battery efficiently

Weaknesses:
Headfones, Screen is weak, Case scratches easily.

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $540.00 from Audiotronic

Summary:
PRICE IN CAN. FUNDS .This is a great little unit. The MDLP really increases the lenght of music that a MD can hold without degrading the sound quality too much. The volume can go up pretty high, but you might want to get a new pair of headphones. Its very convienient that you dont have to take the supplied battery out in order to charge it, all you have to do is plug it in and it turns off automatically when charging is complete. There are alot of great fetures on the unit wich make it very easy to edit music on the go like the T.mark function that lets yuo place track marks inbetween songs. Overall a great player.

Strengths:
-Sound -functions -battery life -long recording time -voice recording (whith microphone) -Looks

Weaknesses:
-not exactly skip free... but using for sports like snowboarding will not cause it to skip unless you fall pretty hard. -supplied headphones suck -Pricy... but watcha gonna do

Similar Products Used:
-none to compare. this is my first MD player.

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $249.00 from Sam Goody

Summary:
Well, this is an introduction to minidisc for me. Being my first md player/recorder, I don't have much to compare this unit to. I love the small size, the sound of LP2 with the minidisc long play, and the light weight of the unit.
My only complaint is the "hold" dial, which is extremely cheap. It sinks down inside the unit when pressed and I am afraid it may break one of these days. The hold dial is the plastic ring that lies around the play/menu buttons (take a look at a pic).
I am really glad I bought the unit as minidisc is pretty awesome, I've found. I can easily put 2-3 CD's on 1 minidisc and still have good quality sound (with LP2 mode). I am not happy with the LP4 mode (poor sound quality), which allows about 5 CD's on one MD, so I don't use it. Regular mode is awesome, but sacrifices disc length, only allowing about 1-1.5 CD on it.
In all, this is a really cool unit... but don't pay retail for it! You can get it from online stores for about 180 bucks, which is a good buy. I had a gift certificate for Sam Goody and was kind of stuck using it for this item-- but with my discount I got a good deal on it. It is a good buy if you like minidisc.

Strengths:
MDLP is really nice. Small size. ease of use. nice looks. good sound. Good on batteries. great skip protection. neat remote and computer link

Weaknesses:
Cheap "hold" dial.
