Review NaN of , from Utrecht, Holland

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Cheap Store

Summary:
This MiniDisc recorder is the Midi-version of the MDS520. That means that the remote control is a much better editing tool than the MDS530 one. It doesn't mention it on the manual, but it has a BitRate converter, which is very useful if you use it to record from Digital Radio (48khz). Quality is not bad compared to a Sony MDS-JA50ES. In direct comparison with an MDS530, the display is (too) small and the insert-mechanism is not its strongest point. I like its size, but not the design, which only makes it fit to the similar StereoSet. But ugly if you want to connect it to a Quad Stereo Set.

Strengths:
Quality. Sound. Simple to use.

Weaknesses:
Minidisc Insert Mechanism. (already replaced)

Similar Products Used:
Only Sony: MDS530, MDS-JA3ES and MDS-JA50ES.
