The 722 is a great minidisc for someone who doesnt want a clamshell design and for the age you can pick it up as a great starter in the world of minidisc. Fantastic sound and ease of use made it very easy to pick up, record and listen for hours. Strengths:
Major strength is the front loading mechanism, and the overall weight and solid design. Labeling is easy and the sound is freakin awesome. Weaknesses:
Jog dial is now finally starting to wear out and doesnt work sometime, but the remote still works great for labeling. Wish the unit was back lit too.

This was my first MD and I loved it! I recorded tracks from my computer and my CD collection. The sound quality is awesome especially when recording from CDs. Naming and editing tracks was easy with this spinning wheel system. Nothing could go wrong, right? Wrong!
After about a year, the 722 got tired I guess and decided to lose 2 of its small screws that hold it together. I never dropped/threw/bumped the thing. One day I noticed that the top portion of the MD was separating from the bottom. After that, the MD stopped recording. (Booo).
Anyway, the 722 was the perfect minidisc player/recorder for a year! Now...it's just the perfect minidisc PLAYER.
Strengths:
Excellent sound/bass, easy to name and edit tracks, small and lighted remote, cool front loading.CHEAP!! Weaknesses:
Not very durable, kinda fat, couldn't jog with it. Boring color (silver) Similar Products Used:

I read reviews about this MD before I chose it, and I knew a friend that had one. It names tracks fast, is easy to use, and is loaded with options. It's easy to erase an entire disk, or track, or to move tracks around. I have a MD in my car, and it recognizes the names my portable MD attaches to the songs. It is a little bulky to run with, but I definitely put up with that.. I couldn't live without this gadget! Strengths:

jog dial is beginning to not move as easily, the remote has messed up and only one channel works (this could be the reason it was refurbished on ebay though), I have owned since sept and it's time to get a new battery (i listen to my MD on the way to class and back, at least an hour every day) Similar Products Used:

It started not unloading after a couple of months. I don't remember doing anything to it though. You have to turn it upside down and hit it against a table or other hard surface for it to come out. Strengths:
Easy recording. Compact. Nice bass. Weaknesses:
Will not unload unless you hit it against something hard.

I'm well aware of the fact that 5 stars means a product that's best of class, and flawless in operation, taking this into account I can whole-heartedly endorse this product with a 5-star review. Simply put, the sound is on par and, better than many of the higher priced units I've heard. Two of my friends own MD players, one being the highest priced Sharp, the other the high priced Sony. Sound differences are indescernable. Both Sharps offered clearer sound, and more enthusiastic bass in my oppinion. Recording is simple on any unit, and when recorded from the same source all 3 units reproduce comporable sound quality. Where the MD 722 shines is in its durability, and price. Though light the 722 is built like a brick, perfect for carrying anywhere. Although it is considered large by many it's still tiny, and smaller than even some MP3 players, if you have a pocket, it'll fit in it. I found my 722 for 150 thanks to a rebate. Now and days it can be found for about 170. This player is golden, it makes warranting the purchase of a higher priced player illogical. Even though some of the newer players have massive battery lives (30 hours+) who listens to a player for that long? All in all, the MD 722 is flawless, and bests everything in its pricerange, and equals those in higher price range. Strengths:
