Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00 from --

Summary:
I got this as a present from my foster-mother. Man, is she sweet! I use the DMD1000 for direct to disc recording. Sound wise, it's an outstanding value: clear, quiet, supple, spacious and just plain sweet. Perfect for quickly making very pleasant recordings indeed. Never had a cd player sounding so lovely :)

Strengths:
Sound.
Basic editing works fine.
adjustable headphones out.
Apparently good build quality after 5 years.
I even use this as a reference for computer based recordings. Seriously! And I do own some nice audio interfaces and software and stuff.
Did I mention the sound?

Weaknesses:
Level metering is inaccurate: it WILL clip below max meter levels. Oh well, it's not a pro recorder...

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $210.00 from eBay

Summary:
Oh, man this md-player is excellent!!! The sound is clear, robust, dynamic but its mild, nice, easy, flyable too. The quality is very good, like all of the Denon. Its not a basic equipment, rather than professional. Simply, classic form, but a great development. I use it more than 1 years ago, but i have no any problems with! Dont hesitate if somebody offer you a similar mdplayer!!I Catch it!

Strengths:
Brilliant sound quality, hi-fi sound. Modern or classical music? - no problem for him. :) Quality built, it looks like long-life product.

Weaknesses:
Absolutely no.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Well thought, well built and elegant Minidisc Recorder. Connectors are good, edition is very OK, remote is cool, it sounds very, very good and never let me down. Reliable unit. Has 2 optical "in" connectors + 1 coaxial + 1 stereo analog.

Strengths:
The Remote. MDM 1000 never lets me down, even in very exacting edition. Denon quality. Two optical connectors (!). Several routing.

Weaknesses:
I do not see anything.

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $450.00

Summary:
This MD-recorder is a really good player and recorder if you just want to copy your CDs. Features: The basic MD-Functions are given, but if you want to do more you''re better of buying a Sony MDS-JA20/50/555ES. Design & build quality: Brilliant!! This recorder is built like a tank and quite heavy at over 6.5 kilos. The brushed aluminium front panel looks very good (espacially in gold!) Sound quality: Recordings are very fluent and good sounding, whether you record via the analog or digital input. There is no big difference compared to CD, so if you want a Md-recorder with basic features which sounds good from "Beethoven" to "Kid Loco" give it a listen! System: Denon DCD-1550AR CD-player Denon PMA-1550R amplifier Denon TU-1500R tuner Grundig speakers Schroers & Schroers hifi rack Audio Magic Penta XL speakerstands

Strengths:
Sound and build quality.

Weaknesses:
Some freaks who like to do more with their music than just copying it should look at the Sony Md-range!

Review 5 of 5

Summary:
I happen to own 2 of these works of art. I bought one thinking I might use it once in a while. But, after playing around and getting used to a new format, (for me that is) I can't begin to describe how fun and versatile this thing is. Not to mention it's beautifully designed and put together like a tank. Anyone who owns a denon receiver should see how gorgeous this thing blends in with your receiver, and YES it's almost as big. The price is a little higher than the average player, but this is no average unit. Along with it's numerous editing features, filing, naming and erasing. I can't think of ANYTHING this player can not do. If there's something this doesn't do it's probably something you'll never need. I bought two because I was planning on using the second for my "Man Room". Well, I never finished my man room, so I am going to have to part with the second. If anyone's interested shoot me an email and I'll give you a killer deal. If you're just looking at this to maybe consider your first Mini Disc player or wanting a second, maybe higher scale than you already own, but this player, even if not here. It's fantastic all the way down to the easy to use but extremely functional remote. I hope this helps out a few people, you won't regret it once you accept it from the UPS guys hands and set it up in your theater, your gonna have a big smile on your face for long time............

Strengths:
Build quality, ergonomics, functionality, versatility, editing, too much more to list.

Weaknesses:
NONE!
