Strength:

A good, solid and reliable cd player. Never had any problem! Allway worked like a want Have a nice sound quality even for a 1 bit DAC

Weakness:

It's not an audiophile cd players.

Very good product, it allway worked well, found any cd instantly, very fast track skipping. Founctions are simple, interesting and not useless. I'm able to have a very good soundstage with this cd player and it fit well the rest of my system. The cd player seem to be of a good construction quality, it seem solid. The multi cd is interesting. A very good cd player for anybody who wnat to listen to music... Only audiophile will not like it.

Strength:

good durability, reliability and features

Weakness:

none that i have founs of yet

I dont care what other people say about this player but it is a very good machine. Being a carni it is used every weekend for hours on end being crushed under tht ewieight of a 500w amp. in the process carni eqipment isnt handled like home hi-fi and it gets its fair shere of knocking around. and in the 8 months i have had it it has run flawlessly, i also found some of the fetues such as fade very useful. Email me at x1dude@aol.com if you would like to discuss furthur.

Strength:

It's worked under a continuous duty cycle for a LONG time. Audio Fidelity is great.

Weakness:

It has had several problems mentioned above. However, if you have the SLIGHTEST mechanical and electrical know-how, you unit will probably be OK.

I have run my CDP-ce315 for 4 years constantly in "Shuffle" mode. I have had the problem in another review with the CD changer not acknowledging that certain discs are in the player. Also the player started randomly ejecting. I solved this by taking every thing apart, cleaning it, and putting it back together. It still often won't acknowledge discs. IT'S A VERY CONSUMER-GRADE PRODUCT. I PAID TOO MUCH.

I saw the Sony CDP-CE315 in the circuit city ad for 150 bucks so i headed down there, not expecting a great player, but as soon as I got it home and listened to it, I realized that I got a great deal. It plays cds great and you can't beat the price.

This is the best CD player I owned. In the past I used Phillips-Magnavox (low quality, noisy), and RCA carrousel players, and this Sony has the most features, the crispier sound quality, and the most bang for your buck. The only thing I'm missing on it is a digital optical output, but other than that the CE315 is a great buy.
Highly recommendable!!!

I have to admit, I am no audio component expert. I put the cds in, push play, and listen, I never was one to pay attention to the features; until now. I recently purchased the Sony CDP-CE315, and I am completely satisfied with it. When my 24 disk Optimus CD Changer went on the fritz, I had no choice but to go out and get a new CD player. I saw this model sitting on display for only $127.25 at an H.H. Gregg, and thought that it was a pretty good deal...heck it was a Sony, and I have always heard that they are a pretty good brand. I got it home and the features on it were so easy to use, nothing real fancy; I for one love that! Another thing that I noticed that really took me off guard was how guiet the changer was...perfect if you are the type of person who likes to fall asleep listening to music. The next component that I buy will be a receiver, and you better believe it will be a sony.

WHAT A PIECE OF SH#@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Figures this thing breaks after 4 months. I had a 6 disc car changer... It worked for 3 months. Took me 2 months to get it back along with my cd's. Now I turn this one on today and it starts flipping out. Opening & closing constantly and only gives me access to 2 of my cd's. I bought this cd player w/a DD receiver... it has also crapped out on me. Well... I now have not 1 but 2 new anchors for my boat....... HAPPY FISHING.... IT SEEMS THATS ALL SONY PRODUCTS ARE GOOD FOR... From here on out it's Denon for me... I regret selling my old one..

Had this for sometime and enjoy the reviews here so decided to add my experience with my CDP C315

A 5 disc changer I purchased years and years ago for $120 at a clearance sale.

Never had any trouble though I do hear background noise between cds or even just from choosing CD as a source on my Nakimichi receiver. Don't have this issue with Video or Tuner so I'm sure it is the CD player.

I'm likely going to try and find a newer CD player that provides more of a soundstage or maybe even a DVD player but I really cannot complain about his product since for the price it has served me very well.

Strength:

Sounds OK

Weakness:

It BROKE

I bought Sony against my better judgment, and I paid--the thing started getting flaky on me after about 6 months. Suddenly decided to ignore CDs on a random basis, telling me that trays were empty when they most decidedly were not. Until the 6 mo. mark, I was happy -- though the changer is a bit noisy -- but I just can't recommend Sony anything anymore (I lost a Sony receiver ages ago.)
