Strength:

Overall sound. Comfortably powerful! Beautiful open sound.

Weakness:

Buttons and manual are unclear! It setup itself with my cd player but I'm planning to use it with protools so I don't know what problems there will be. I'm sure I'm gonna be fine.

This is a great unit. Connecting it was without problems.
I immediately heard the difference with my cd player. Which I connected it to with a coaxial cable.
It sounds open and easy (sorry I'm dutch). I can play music very loud without problems. Sound stage is excellent! I come from a Rotel RCD-02 cd player witch sounds great to my ears but the RME Wins! Especially the low frequencies are much better. The highest of the high end is also better. In comparison my Rotel sounds a little compressed. Still very good but....
It sound almost analog. No digital harshness can be found.

Price mentioned was in euro's

Benchmark DAC 1, I hate this one, sounds like a Chevy Van driving over you! I've heard it a few times and I've come to dislike it more and more.

The Lavry DA-10 wich sounded in the same studio much better. I was looking for AD too so this RME unit was my first choice. Check it ou before you spend more money. It truly sounds great.
