KEF Q9c Center Channels

KEF Q9c Center Channels

DESCRIPTION

The Q9c centre speaker has the same UNI-Q array for a perfect timbre-match with the rest of the Q Series. Off axis response is crucial in centre speakers because they carry all of the dialogue content - and with the Q9c, high output and fast transient attack combine with UNI-Q''s inherently wide dispersion characteristics to create an involving sound stage for everyone in the room.

Strength:

After listening to the Cambridge Audio Azur 540 for a solid month, I could not tell that much difference between the quality of sound of it and my Pioneer Elite receiver that was seven years old. I then decided to go back and get something of higher quality, but a little bit more money, engine diagnostics and repair

Weakness:

None . .

Strength:

Good dynamic range. Excellent imaging, excellent dispersion of sound.

Weakness:

Uhm...hard to set anything on top of it? Not much, for the price paid.

I really enjoy the clarity of this center-speaker, as well as all of KEF products. With the Uni-Q driver, I don't have to search for "sweet-spots" in the room to make sure I'm getting the perfect sound. With it's broad range of frequencies, this speaker sounds as sharp as it looks.

Strength:

Not bad at all for the price. Great in small rooms and at low volumes Looks much better than most.

Weakness:

Fades at high volumes and in complex scenes

Not a bad product but in larger room with high volume seems to get drowned out. Got a Yamaha AZ2 with 2x Q7 front , 2x Q8s FE and 3x Q1 for rears. I've turned up the center and still under certain situations I find it lacking. The rest of the speakers are awesome. Trying to get a XQ2c to demo. In a small room (less than 7m x 4m) it sounds fine and very clear. Still for about local price of about $400 very hard to beat.

Strength:

clear imaging, covers 50-27khz freqs, great soundstage. beautiful appearance as well. in this price range it's at the top. like all of the q series it sounds like it cost three times as much!

Weakness:

like most center channels it isn't designed for lower bass freqs. but that is why you use a subwoofer.

one of the best center speakers in its price class. perhaps the best, the kef q9c delivers excellent center channel performance that delivers excellent soundstaging, and imaging.

Strength:

With the Q technology, it almost doesn’t matter how you place this speaker, it will produce crisp clear sound in every direction.

Good looks, precise sound, and great dispersion with just enough bass. This speaker is ported and bi-wired, ready for sound. It comes in three colors, black ash, natural and apple wood for the enthusiast of wood. A definite asset to complete your Q Series surround sound.
